[www.inewsguyana.com] – A male teacher of a private institution on the East Bank of Demerara was allegedly caught having sexual intercourse with a 14 – year – old female student.

iNews was reliably informed that the incident allegedly occurred on February 24. iNews understands that the teacher is the son of a well – known Pastor.

Information received indicated that the two were caught in the act in one of the classrooms. The teacher was taken into police custody on Tuesday and was subsequently released on bail.

iNews understands that the teacher has since denied the act. A source close to the investigation informed iNews that as soon as the incident was reported to the teachers at the school, the necessary reporting measures were followed and the police were informed.

The Head Teacher of the school reportedly accompanied the accused teacher to the police station where he was forced to spend the night as the investigation commenced.
