We had 1 single tree in our  backyard whn i was a lil kid but 2-3 of our cows died ..strangked overnight whn they were tied to this tree..we were told that Dutchman lived under tree so people told my dad not to cut it down.  My dad found a way out..he tied a stone bull on it n that animal uprooted  the entire tree..hahaha

Dried calabash shell was the best dipper for water..used to fill our buckets from pond..used to water plants n to dip water to bathe with..

yes Chams..we used them as pots n pans whn we played doll-houses

good for arts n crafts too..to paint n make all kinds fo decorations

I have half of a calabash shell in my home. My hubby brought is back in 2006 or around that time.
I remember having it at the farm where we grew dasheen, cassava, eddoes etc but don’t recall how it was usedâ€Ķme and my nana used to paddle in a two ppl canoe which he  chiselled from a tree trunkâ€Ķ krealle cre all ?  One person in the village had a tree with big green ballsâ€ĶI didn’t know that was calabash until I was older.

Small calabash was used as “shak shak” .. bire hole at top n dig out inside n fill with something to rattle then block up hole with stick as handle n paint it nicely !!!
