Sultan is a sports-drama film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films banner, the film stars Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles and centers around Sultan Ali Khan (Salman Khan), a wrestler who has problems in his professional and personal life. From a small town wrestler in Haryana, Sultan achieves global fame winning bouts at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, the 2011 FILA Wrestling World Championships in Istanbul and the 2012 London Olympics. Sultan is scheduled to release on 6th July 2016.
The Yash Raj Films production, which co-stars Anushka Sharma, Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh, is being released on as many as 4,200 screens in India and 1,200 screens in the rest of the world. Some trade analysts are predicting an opening day tally of 40-45 crore in India and a lifetime total of 250-300 crore.
Collectively, the trailers and original songs have topped 100 million views across Yash Raj Films’ YouTube network. While the first teaser trailer registered 19.4 million views, the second had 7.6 million and the trailer itself reached 22.9 million.
