The PPP thinks that a Marriott in G/twn where there are too mnay hotel rooms, an 8 jet way terminal , when we only get 6 jet PER DAY, will develop tourism.

The bleat about eco tourism and yet have done nothing to improve accessibility to the interior.

Like druggie, they look at a map and scream that Guyana can be a hub.  They know nothing about the airline industry, or about travel markets in various South American countries.  Trinidad failed in its plan to develop a hub, despite having an airline, and despite having a travel market that is at least 4X the size of ours, and also having more ties to more parts of South America than we have.

Seriously the PPP should confine itself to running a roti stand, and leave the real business of developing a nation to others.

Before we go further into this debate would some decent and impartial individual please give us some economic data on tourism in Guyana for the last 20 years so we can analyze its impact and future impact on the economy and job creation. We need numbers like the amount of revenues generated annually for the last twenty years; number of people employed in the industry; number of travellers each year; number of hotels and new tourist attractions.  As for crime, it is bad for a tourist economy. 

The fact that most of us elected you to stay away for two weeks shows what we think of your posts.
