Still waiting on those economic sanctions. Thankfully, Trump and his cronies will be out of office in a few months.

I am not sure we should bet on a Biden presidency being more favourable. After all the Democrats are going to frown on how the Carter Center was treated. The Carter Center is highly respected in the US and a President Biden will most likely seek feedback from that organization.
This is the first in a series of sanctions. Fire in the wire on the PNC SOB's.
Wait until Stray Dog Granger is dragged in the streets.

What a gift for Granger's birthday from Uncle Sam!
Pompeo's announcement couldn't be more timely. This is just the start. Every long journey begins with a single footstep. Grangerites don't want to hear, they will feel.

UPDATE: Some government ministers, GECOM officials and one lawyer included in the Visa restriction blacklist.

Someone asked earlier today or yesterday where the sanctions are.
Things have a way to avalanching. Let the real games begin.
The United Kingdom (UK) has begun processes to impose sanctions on top Government and elections officials for undermining Guyanaâs democracy as pressure builds on President David Granger to concede defeat and allow the swearing-in of the PPPâs Dr Irfaan Ali.
The United Kingdom is one of Guyanaâs main development partners; funding for key infrastructure projects remains on hold since September last year when the United Kingdom and others deemed the Government unconstitutional for missing an elections deadline after the passage of the Parliamentary No Confidence vote.
The UK funds on pause include those for the construction of the road between Linden and Mabura and the bridge at Kurupukari as part of efforts to build the long-awaited road from Linden to Lethem. A Kingston-Ogle seawall development project is also on hold.
The News Room was reliably informed that the sanctions by the United Kingdom will be similar to those imposed by the United States. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced visa sanctions on Wednesday.
The measures will take immediate effect once they are announced.
The UK has joined with other countries over the past four months in calling for the declaration of an elections results based on the national vote recount.
Following the recount which showed the Opposition Peopleâs Progressive Party beating Grangerâs APNU+AFC by 15,416 votes, the UK and other international governments have repeatedly called for the results of the election to be declared using the tabulations from the national vote recount.
The UK had also warned that consequences will be imposed if this is not done.
On Friday last, High Commissioner to Guyana Greg Quinn who is one of the longest-serving diplomats in Guyana, said everyone is waiting on GECOM to act.
âThis has gone on an awfully, awfully long time and it really does need a resolution and it needs a resolution sooner rather than later,â he had stated.
The recount results have since been challenged in the High Court with the hearing before the Chief Justice Roxane George set for Friday at 14:00h.

Does anyone still believe anything coming from Coalition? Obviously those beginning the sanctions don't. And their opinions matter tremendously.
The elections were over since March 4th. Everything that occurred since then were silly moves by the Coalition to frustrate the will of the electorate. The proof is that all their attempts so have been denied by their final court rulings.

Canada now wants Dr Irfaan Ali to be sworn-in as the democratically elected President of Guyana and lead a PPP/C government.

Canada says will use âall tools at our disposalâ to hold accountable those who prevent declaration of recount results
July 15, 2020 â Ottawa, Ontario â Global Affairs Canada
âCanada strongly regrets the extended delay in declaring election results in Guyana, a delay that has now lasted more than four months since elections were held on March 2.
âWe support calls by the Organization of American States, the Caribbean Community [CARICOM], the Commonwealth, the Caribbean Court of Justice and civil society organizations to announce the results based on the national recount, as validated by the CARICOM observer mission.
âIn the interest of the democratic rights of the people of Guyana, Canada firmly maintains that the rule of law and democratic processes must be respected and a declaration be announced without further delay.
âCanada will continue to work with its partners in the international community, using all tools at our disposal, to demand a swift and transparent conclusion to the election process and hold accountable those who prevent it.â

BK among coalition financiers sanctioned by US Govt
Jul 15, 2020 News 0, Source - https://www.kaieteurnewsonline...nctioned-by-us-govt/
Kaieteur News has been reliably informed that Brian Tiwari, principal of BK Group of Companies, is among APNU+AFC financiers facing personal sanctions from the US Government over his support of an administration which continues to undermine Guyanaâs democracy.
Sanctions are to be imposed on APNU+AFC Government Ministers, financiers, judicial officers, and (Guyana Elections Commission) GECOM officers. Family members of offenders will also face sanctions. The sanctions, ranging from terminated visas to frozen assets, are expected to be imposed in phases, starting from the upper echelon of the party.

Semantics. Verbal gymnastics. Laughable. An insult to Mike Pompeo's intelligence. The US Administration knows that the three APNU+AFC commissioners in GECOM are in cahoots with Lowenfield to block declaration of the recount results. Executive President Granger said he endorsed Mingo's false declaration. Granger allows his minions to take GECOM to court every time an unfavorable decision is imminent. Yet this statement claims that the Executive is not interfering with GECOM. Barefaced shameless people.

Its partners. ð the only partner Canada working with is the Great US of A in God we trust. And now that the US is imposing visa sanctions it is my best bet that Canada will follow suit......then there's the UK.
What a tangled mess.
Then the EU. Then the OAS, Commonwealth, CARICOM. The only powers left will be the Russians and Chinese and the Coalition may be banking on them but history has shown that neither the Chinese nor the Russians can really be counted on.

Stop with the mental slavery people. The West is no longer the land of milk and honey. In fact, it never was.
They only care about Guyana because of our newly discovered resource they want to control. The interference will stop. If that makes President Granger a "dictator", so be it.
Keep licking the boot of the white man.

By all indications it matters much to the Coalition as there was an instantaneous response from them regarding it. Just consider the desperation in the response shown below.
Georgetown, Guyana (July 15, 2020): The Executive arm of Government regrets the decision taken by the United States Department of State.
The matter affecting the outcome of Guyanaâs elections is still before courts, which is entirely the responsibility of the judiciary. No declaration has been made.
The Executive Branch has not participated in the undermining of the electoral process and urges all countries interested in Guyanaâs development to await the logical conclusion of the process which is being managed by the Elections Commission, in accordance with the Constitution of Guyana.

NO - that's called a diplomatic response.
Same stance - respect the Constitution of Guyana and GECOM. Where does it show desperation??
Even these folks who were not so long ago Granger's friends have issued pronouncements against him.
Today, Congressman Albio Sires (D-NJ) and Congressman Gregory Meeks (D-NY), Chairman and Vice Chair respectively of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Civilian Security, and Trade, issued the following statement in support of democracy in Guyana:
âAs friends of Guyana who recently traveled to the country in January, we urge the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) to promptly issue a Declaration of Results based on the results of the national recount. CARICOM, the Organization of American States, diplomatic missions, and domestic civil society organizations all confirmed that the recount was completed in a professional and transparent manner, providing the basis for a Declaration of Results.
We strongly support the multilateral efforts made to support the people of Guyana throughout this process, which have been led by CARICOM and supported by the U.S. Embassy, the European Union, the Canadian and British High Commissions, and the Organization of American States. While we do not endorse President Trumpâs and Secretary Pompeoâs unilateral approach to conducting foreign policy around the world, we stand with our career diplomats and with the international community, which is completely unified in calling for the immediate Declaration of Results based on the recount.
We condemn all efforts to undermine the credibility of the March 2nd election, including recent actions taken by the Chief Elections Officer to effectively disenfranchise thousands of voters and manipulate the vote count.
We fully support GECOM Chairwoman Claudette Singhâs decision to dismiss all of the Chief Elections Officerâs fraudulent reports and are confident that she will declare a winner based on the actual vote count, as certified through the recount process. Guyanaâs leaders must prioritize national unity and the long-term health of Guyanaâs democratic institutions and abide by the will of the Guyanese people, as reflected in the recount results.
We commend the people of Guyana for their remarkable patience over the last four months, but they have waited far too long. GECOM must promptly issue a Declaration of Results and begin the democratic transition process.â

It would be forth-coming if the court consisting of 2 blacks and 1 Indian vote to give APNU/AFC power. The PPP won by 15,336 votes and the PNC lost by over 24,000.
There will be a job opening in the PNC for Leadership. Please do apply.
