I started using Viber recently. Are those Viber to Viber phone calls really free

It's "viber" and yes its free.

My friend use it all the time to call Australia. She also use it to text which is free

I endorse what Riya says. It's true. I use Viber too.

Viber to Viber is free. Viber to non-Viber is 2 cents/min from Toronto to US and UK, and 37 cents/min to Guyana.

Tel plans have 29 cents/min to GY. Its called Global with 50 countries, including UK for free.

Also 1000 minutes/month free calling in North America.

Viber is similar to Skype, calls are free to both install or paid if calling a normal phone or mobile without viber.
