Well you guys remember 2 weeks ago I was asking about sending txt msgs from cellphone to Guyana. I did get that to work, but someone introduced me to a program for the phone that is called "whatsapp", msgs are free both ways and the bonus is I can actually send voice clips free. My mom has been using it like a long distance thing now by sending short voice msgs about 2 mins each to her neice , and it is all free.

What's App and BBM both work on WIFI, you can even send voice messages/notes. But I believe people with Iphone's have to pay for the what's app application.

you can also send pictures and videos via what's app. best of all it allows for interoperability across blackberry, iphone, samsung and so many other systems.

Been using it for a while now. I have a Samsung cell with a Tango app, does the same as Skype.
