Man calls wife dog, gets slapped with two charges.

Folks, Guyana is getting serious with indecent language and domestic violence. If you think, the United States is tough, think again. A man was charged for calling his wife, dog. Could you imagine what it would be if you name a dog after your wife? Well, that besides the point. Some folks here should take note when using indecent language and get away with it. I have seen many court cases but this one take the cream.

I met a friend of mine yesterday who slapped his wife for the first time in 10 years, and she called the cops on him. He was arrested, processed and sent to Rikers Island because he has no one to bail him at the moment. He said if this was Guyana, she would have gotten a good trashing, and she couldn't do anything. I said to him Guyana is worst. He said his wife is Illegal.

I said she will file under the battered spouse law and get her green card. He said he has property, truck, and bank account between he and his mother. I said she is entitled to half of what belong to you. He said what he %$# he's going to do. I said to join the misery club. This is a woman's world.

Other than "this is a woman's world", how do you feel about a man hitting a woman? I like details, so feel free to expound on the topic of domestic violence.

Men should never hit a woman or vice versa. Domestic violence is increasing rather than decreasing, and that is very alarming. This is not my story; I am just the messenger. Thankfully, I have a devoted and thoughtful family. Communication, understanding and trust played an integral part in all relationships. I just wish I have the perfect solution for this problem.

Are you suggesting because she can get what she is entitled to under the law she is getting an unfair advantage? What is his money doing in a joint account with his mother? Is that an Indian thing or just this wife beater? I thought one's wife comes first. One mother was her husbands other half not your half. One is obliged to take care of ones mother not make her head of ones house.

In any event, you are a poor story teller. The whole message is inconsistent in place, tense and time.
