XP should install the drivers automatically if not click on control panel - system devices, select the device, right click and update drivers.

Why not install windows 7? There a lot more generic drivers in Windows 7 for the Sony Vaio laptops. Except for two big screen Toshiba laptops, I have been buying only Sony Vaio for the staff over the last few years. All of them cmae with XP or Vista, but they worked near perfect with the standard Windows 7 drivers. The only thing you'll have to find better drivers for are the SD and Memorystick memory card slots, and possibly the PCMCIA slot.

You need to get Win 7 like MrT said. I had many issues with Vista. XP drivers are getting obsolete. Damm IT vultures!
