Albert, until a few years ago, I ate, sleep and dream of the PPP My mom went to school with Cheddi and I knew all the brothers and other relatives. My grandfather was Cheddi's father best friend.
Being serious Albert, the PPP USED to work hard for the ordinary folks of Guyana...something changed along the way...a parting occured and as we presently work with youth groups, they dont see a connection with the government.
Only this morning a couple from our youth group contacted us about wanting to get married in December, they both have low paying jobs miles apart from each other.
Friends will help with wedding cost, but one of them have to quit and find a job closer to the other.
Overseas organization fund their house, hydro wiring, etc...but their wage will be impossible to start a family.
They need help Albert and the GOG need to establish the atmosphere for this to happen.
There seems to be a serious disconnect between GT and the ordinary folks in Guyana. You can only see this if you live for a while among the poor in Guyana, as we do with our programs.
I respect your stand with the new PPP, I might seem harsh at times, but I get angry when I see the injustice done to innocent people.

Guyana has traveled a long way on the road of economic growth...the journey is not over...there are still target to be achieved...the P.P.P/C is at full throttle...in improving the socio-economic standards of its citizens...there's a popular saying Rome wasn't build in a day....since 1992....the P.P.P/C has done Guyana Well...and will continue to Progress Guyana..

NEW United States Ambassador to Guyana Mr. D Brent Hardt has reiterated his pledged commitment to working with the Guyana Government, civil society and private sector organizations, as well as with all Guyanese, to build on the existing partnership for the mutual benefit of both Guyana and the United States of America. âI have come to know Guyana as a country with tremendous economic potential, with its rainforest, agricultural lands, mineral resources, and creative and innovative peopleâĶwith continued strong economic investments and continued growth in the confidence of the political process, I believe Guyana is poised for major achievements,â the US Ambassador declared.
Hardt also noted that US engagement in Guyana is rooted in collaboration and shared values of democracy, tolerance, economic opportunities, and respect for human dignity, which have borne fruit in a host of joint efforts in several areas. The Centre for Disease Control and the USAID have been working closely over the last decade with the Ministry of Health to combat HIV/AIDS and other diseases.
He said that President Barack Obamaâs primary security programme for the region, the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative, has allowed close working relations with Guyana in a regional effort to combat drug trafficking and help young people to avoid getting involved in criminal activities.
The US Embassy has also been working with the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) to support electoral processes, while the partnership between the US Forest Services and the Guyana Forestry Commission (GFC) aims to help Guyana achieve the REDD+ initiatives in its Low Carbon Development Strategy (LCDS).
The US-Guyana trade and investment support project has been opening new export opportunities for Guyanese goods and services, eco-tourism, aquaculture, agriculture and wood products.
In terms of support in the energy sector, the US has been working with local agencies to support the implementation of a potential oil and gas reserve exploration in a manner that will maximise the benefits for Guyana.
Hardt, a career diplomat who has served as Charge dâ Affaires of the US Embassy in the Bahamas among other postings, presented his letters of Credence to President Bharrat Jagdeo on September 15. Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, in his remarks on behalf of the Government and people of Guyana joined the diplomatic community and special invitees at the in welcoming the new US Ambassador to Guyana.
Prime Minister Hinds said Guyana and the US have traditionally shared a close collaborative relationship in various areas such as health, security, climate change, governance and energy, all of which contribute to the countryâs overall national development efforts.
âThe Government of Guyana is very appreciative of the US Governmentâs commitment to this partnership between our two peoples and looks forward to its further strengthening during your tenure here,â the Prime Minister told the Ambassador.
He said the Guyana Government is also appreciative of US ongoing support as the country embarks once again, on a critical aspect of democracy, the holding of general and regional elections constitutionally due before the end of this year. [Special Invitees at the reception. ]
âWe are confident that the elections will be peaceful, fair and transparent,â the Prime Minister said.
To this end, several entities including CARICOM, the Organisation of American States (OAS), and the Commonwealth Secretariat have all been invited to Guyana to function as electoral observers to ensure the maintenance of electoral best practices.
Prime Minister Hinds also assured of Governmentâs commitment to ensuring that the close partnership shared by the two countries continue in the future.

Bill Clinton was not speaking more than Obama. He wasnt in all of Obama's campaign literature. And most importantly Obama wasnt afraid to debate his opponents, even though in the beginning he did so very poorly (he is better at scripted speaking them spontaneous).

Sorry Bill was not beside Obama. He made speeches of support for Obama as did many other prominent people.
Obama spoke for himself and won on his own. In fact Obama won MORE WHITE votes than Bill ever did. The voter turn out was much larger due to Obama exciting the black, latino, and young white voters. Obama did this. Not Bill.
Ramotar is hiding behind Jagdeo's pants lages. So much so taht almost every PPP poster you send has BOTH men their, Jagdeo clearly looking like teh man in charge.

So Jagdeo has to hide all these facts by campaigning even more than Ramotar does.

It is wrong because the credibility of the PPP internal election is under question. The party grass roots never had a chance to elect their candidate.

Building malls to sell cheap chinese goods or opening fast food joints and holding ribbon cutting ceremonies or giving away the nations money so a drug lord can build a hotel for resale to another neafarous character represents their kind of thinking.
As I asked; where are the brick kilns, small forges and machinist shops or small engine plants. We do not even make a toilet bowl or a bottle despite having an abundance of silica.
