The Chinese do not make any good bike or bike part. Racing bikes are essentially still in the area of a craft.

Bike racing is an expensive sport. A biker need one time trial bike and at a minimum two other bikes at all times. If they participate in the European style classics they will need many different wheel sets. It would take at least 50K per biker to keep them in equipped each year and that is a minimum figure.

Most cyclists here ride less the $3000US bikes, only a handful has more expensive models. Most guys buy the bikes themselves, however a guy from Miami (Cocos Grill & Club) did donate a few high quality frames to riders (maybe 4). Humphrey Bakery also buys frames and components for their club members too. Its a though life for young racers here, I know quite a few who are forced to take time off because of broken parts etc. then come back later and race. Young riders are supported by parents & family etc. Not many corporate entity support cycling equipment, Digicel did buy a fixed wheel for a rider once. Benjamin's Sportwear of Toronto usually brings clothes and other equipment for Berbicians, and this keeps them going a bit. Berbice's coach is known for sleeping with his young cyclists but thats a different story.........

I should have said they are designed in Canada, and the US and assembled in China. I do not know of any Chinese designed and manufactured bike on the racing scene There may be but I do not know of any brand

Biking is not mainly man but man and machine. To be at the top means you have to have the right tech and the body to take advantage of it. A 3k bike may be be good on the flats but bouncy on the climbs. With Shimano Dura Ace components may be a few ounces less than its Ultegra line and close to half a pound less than its 105 series but that is a lot of difference in tech as well. That will translate to great advantage to a bike rider.

Dura Ace 7900 Kits are already 2200 at minimum. There should be some emphasis of sponsorship for high quality athletes to develop. And that is only on the machine side. What about the individual, how can he/she train to compete on the professional level? They will need sponsorship to grow.

As for the coach that goes to a failure of the biking community. If you tolerate creeps they will hang on. They should raise a fuss about it or define for themselves some ethical rules. If they compete internationally those rules they already have to follow them. Enforce them from within the community.

I have Dura Ace on my Specialized . Nice component group. Also have an older Raleigh with Campagnolo Record. Hardly ride that bike though. I need to buy a track frame. I have this Richard Sachs bike that I got when I managed a bike shop quite a few years ago but the frame is way too big. Mavic wheels with Campy grouppo. I was looking at Bike Nashbar but nothing really nice. Might go to the bike shop and see if I can get a Bianchi frame from the owner. Hard to wrestle stuff from that Korean guy though.

There is a guy from the oldish days thats still dominating locally, I used to see him in the results with Jaipaul & Sammy. Its quite remarkable.

Bruddaman, check this out http://racycles.com/Track/Giant I bought from them, they are flexable & reliable.

That is BMX racing. I ride XC mountain bikes and ride with a bikeshop club. We also ride downhills for fun. Around me are some nice single tracking with jumps and some rock gardens, streams and moderate climbs. We do a lot of night riding in the winter similar to this .

That's the guy, he did work for Fogarty's. I'll ask if he knows you and if he visited your cartdboard box recently. This guy fell once in a race and broke his collarbone, his family also had a store in Regent St .

Yep, I rode in the upright class with him, he used to whip my ass, the banna had some legs on him as thick as my head. I don't remember his name right now.
