I doan condone any type of voilence, but any GOG must know they lack the ability to maintain law and order. The Linden Incident is just another extension of an ungovernable country. These things occur in the society at large because the citizens have no directions. Perhaps, no real purpose to life. And that is a failure on who you think? 

I agree with this statement, however, I think that what is coming out of President Ramoutar's mouth is just "big talk". He has to walk the talk and so far he has shown how weak his administration is in dealing with the Linden situation. He has to take decisive action and stop giving hugs to the thugs he is negotiating with. I am speaking of Sharma Soloman, Vanessa Kissoon, the delinquent taxpayer Nigel Hughes and others. He has to end that Tripartite crap he started with Politicians who don't care a rats ass about the economy. The President has to give the orders to the Security forces to remove , by whatever means necessary, all barriers affecting the free movement of goods and services to the interior and other affected region. Country comes first Mr. President NOT Linden. If other regions continue to be affected then Linden should be isolated, meaning nothing gets in and no one gets out of Linden. It either we all swim or sink together.

The government should give the pigheaded Lindeners an ultimatum and then move them by force. Guyana cannot be held under siege and obstruct work in progress.

The army should use as much force as necessary to remove those who are holding the entire town hostage.

The "army" should not be engaged in internal security issues unless mass mayhem is threatened with the intent of overthrowing the duly elected Govt.  The Govt should stick to robust policing.

Terrorists are those in Linden who destroy and burn private property and block public roads. Because they want to pay $ 5 per kilowatt while the rest of the country pay $ 53 or more for electricity.

Once the govt initiates a commission of inquiry and govt and residents engage in civil conversation the protesters must cease disruptive protests or else the govt has an obligation to enforce an end to it. This is where David Granger as the new leader of the PNC has a great opportunity to intervene for a peaceful end of the disruptive protest and prove himself as a 'Real' Leader.

Its time the residents of Linden remove the blockage, their concerns are being address, they should not hold the interest on the residents in the interior hostage.

Well history has shown what happened there so clearly the PPP has no clue about what Lindeners think.

But you see sir the PPP has never dealt with the fact that 95% of the Afrian/mixed population hate them.  So what ever the PPP does which is seen to negatively impact this populatuion will be viewed thru racial eyes.

What the PPP needs to do is to admit that it has a problem with the African/mixed population. Engage in a broad based dialogue and COLLECTIVELY develop measures to address this issue. They had an opportunuity to do so when Jagdeo took over, not encumbered was he by the stench of the 60s.  They refused to.  AGAIN under Ramotar there was another opportunity, but rather than doing that he has been shooting down protesting blacks.

Can you tell us exactly how this subsidy is provided.  According to Chris Ram BOSAI doesnt lose money generating electricity.  So is the govt paying BOSAI too much so that they generate a surplus?  Is a major global corporation being subsidized by the govt?

Had Ramotar gone to Linden to see the protesters the very next day as one would have expected, and not have his media portray them as a bunch of terrorists, not having his goons tell lies that the police were under attack....maybe we might be beyoind this, because as you reacll this was initally planned only for five days.

On the contrary, the protesters blocked off the main route to the interior and in Buxtonian Freedom Fighter style demanded $25k toll from miners and others traveling through. Buildings and heavy construction equipments were set on fire and police officers, sent to keep the peace were attacked viciously by the protesters. This was the prelude to the event that left three protesters dead.
