This is the weakness of Marx's writings. He only wrote in terms about economics. He did not take into account other factors in society like culture which other thinkers such as Durkeim did.

There is as difference in the university system he attended and the mainstream Russian education system. Check it out and become informed on the school. It was designed to mint communists for the third world. Its entire curriculum was geared at political indoctrination with little in terms of what we would term academics. I will have to check to see if it still exists.
