Most people of African descent in Guyana describe themselves as "black". "Afro Guyanese" is the PC term and "African" used almost exclusively by intellectuals.

If some Indians think that they insult me by calling me "blackman" it merely shows their own self hatred and colonial thinking.

Funny you say that.  Back in the day was different.  When I first came to the US, I had a hard time referring to people as "Black", a reference the Blacks prefer over the word "Negro".

Jesse Jackson tried Afro American but the term did not stick, instead "Blacks" was preferred by your people and "nigg*" when they converse among themselves.  Like "yo my nigg* what's happening!"

I think outsiders are much wiser. They really do not portray Guyana as the way you guys describe it. What they conclude is that a bunch of Guyanese that migrated decades ago to the USA and Canada are gradually going senile and complaining about things they really have no interest in
