Down in Cambridge we doan have fresh anything Guyanese. You buy the tennis roll from the West Indian store or a bakery?

Cambridge on Main St in GT was a wilddd place with the loose women.

Once while out for a few sprints before a cycling meet next day, I happened to be going by there. Man, yo boy Cain notice women on the stairs, plying their wares and decided to do one last sprint going by so I got off the saddle, dropped my head practically over the handlebars, bounced the rear wheel which gives it an extra spin then zoooom...tarasssss. Instead of zooming away my chain decide jus so fi break. Over the handlebars yo boy went..skidded on my chest. As I picked myself up one of the women yelled out, "do it again putagee... I'll gi you twenty five cents."

Needless to say I couldn't compete the next day because of my bike and I being busted up.

Yep..a whole quarter to do it again. I'm surprised she didn't offer a bob (if memory is correct..that was 10cents)

That last fruit was juicy and sour wasn't it? If it is what I think it is, I never liked it much.

Ban karaila grew wild.. nobidy used that.. we had plenty green in the backdam . Parents sold wholesale ie by the ‘bags’ (squash, baigan) or basket  (tomatoes, ochro, bora, bhaji, seim)
