That depends if the Coalition will proceed that route.
Article 106 (7) was quoted by the speaker,Elections have to be held in 90 days, or extension of time with votes from the Opposition.
Correct me. But i dont think the opposition was in Parliament. They asked to be excused?
The opposition asked to be excused, in a sense boycotted the sitting.

Yes and the courts would pronounce that since the speakerâs decision stands, the vote stands.
The PNC is now squatting and should do the correct thing and call election in 90 days. It does not bode well for the economy, democracy and investment.
He only presented the PNC side of the argument and nothing from the opposition. This was his diplomatic way of allowing the PNC to squat in office.

The opposition made it clear that the government is illegal and should begin the process of calling an election and meeting with the opposition to discuss any business regarding parliament.

The Military might take over Guyana in a bloodless coup supporting the current government. I can see this coming if the opposition PNC continues to squat in office.
BREAKING: Speaker upholds No Confidence vote
Speaker of the National Assembly Dr Barton Scotland Thursday afternoon declined to reverse the December 21, 2018 vote of No Confidence against the Government and urged talks between the Government and the Opposition to settle the matters which have been raised.
In doing so, he said a resort to the Courts would be best to address the issues that have been raised following the historic vote which toppled the Government.
He quoted Article 106 (7) of the Constitution which dictates that elections be held in three months, and after the swearing of a new president, the present Government shall resign.
Sadly, the ABC countries will have to intervene, failing to do so will result in support of an illegal administration squatting in parliament.

This is not really a win for the PPP. This should not be reffered to the courts. The government is illegal if his decision stands. The illegal PNC is now squatting in office.
Intervention by ABC is now needed to remove them.

I doubt that.
MP's salaries is still being paid?
Is the newly minted MP getting a salary?
Who is footing the legal bill for the coalition?

Jagdeo Marshall his forces to stand Firmed, Fit and Proper .
Thankfully we have Jagdeo. The PNC could have pushed over any other member of the opposition. They finally met their match.
Why is it that there has to be an international effort every time the PNC loses ? Is dictatorship part fo the PNC DNA ? Will the PNC ever change ?

There is always the option of taking questionable results of an important vote to the courts. See Bush vs Gore and the PPP in the 2015 elections. Are you trying to subvert democracy in the favor of the PPP?
Are you dumb or what? Don't you understand the meaning of the Constitution 106.7? Find someone with a bit of a brain to explain it to you. The speaker addressed this in today's ruling.
the govt and Parliament is ILLEGAL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!
Correct.
VishMahabir posted:I dont follow this....why are parliamentarians acting as if there was no vote of confidence....should they not address that first????
The Parliament is not dissolved as yet.
Why the speaker showed up in the first place? I think he should have stayed away from parliament.

So why wasnât this part of the constitution not applied in 2015.
Since the speaker did not reverse his decision, the NC stands and it is illegal and unconstitutional to conduct any business.
