Is taunting a form of bullying?
I think...
Taunting is more like teasing...not necessarily a repetitive act.
Bullying is more intense, seeks to empower the bully and demean the victim, and is generally more repetitive...
In any case....from what I am reading from you folks here...I dont think Guyanese are sophisticated to understand the causes and impact of bullying and how they affect both aggressor and victim...so i am sure this is a recurring incident in Guyana, among all different people, who will not necessarily readily jump to import "racial animosity" as a factor in the equation.

Itβs not genetic. Itβs cultural. Poor upbringing. I have an Israeli friend who weighs about 90 pounds. She is completely fearless and would fight any man in a heartbeat. Taunting is a typical way in which a bully βattacksβ their victim. It has one purpose β to hurt the βvictimβ. It is one-sided, sinister, and meant to diminish the other person. Taunting typically increases when the βvictimβ becomes upset.
There is no playfulness in taunting β and no way to βmisconstrueβ the intent.
Taunting is something a bully does!

In the Israeli army everyone is given a fair chance. The Israeli men donβt rape the women fighting alongside them. They donβt discriminate based on what you look like and who your father is or isnβt. The recruits didnβt have to spend countless hours in the sun planting mung beans at Kimbia.

I had several cousins did GNS and they said much of what was said was not so or exaggerated! Some were assigned projects based on the UG major. For example, one did Bio-Chemistry and was testing river eutrophication and farming!
They also said rarely anything happened that alarmed anyone.

OK...I watched the video again, as disturbing as it is, because you knuckleheads keep posting it.
Here is my take on this:
First, Anyone who mounts any kind of defense for this type of behavior whatsoever, regardless of the motive and reason that led to the incident, needs to really have their heads examined. Shame on those of you who try to make this into a political or racial issue.
Second, since this dude is now on social media, it would not be difficult to find him. I know what my parents would have done. People should find him, give him a sound beating like the one he inflicts on the defenseless kids, and post that video on social media for all to see.
That should be a lesson to all potential bullies...
Politicians and social groups in Guyana should be speaking out against this just like how they promote anti-drug and anti-suicide programs.

Base grew up with Blacks. We were the only Indian family. We played and fought and all stuff boys do. You just punch back. Blacks does back off.
I give you a lil story. My cousin Ginger came to visit us one Summer. He was 10/11. There was a Buxton Afro kid who came to be with his father every Summer. He was a bully and even the Blacks kids from the village were afraid of him.
Anyway, this kid picked a fight with Ginger. We never saw a lil coolie bai beat the crap out of a Black kid. When he finished beating him, Ginger threw him in a gutter.
Ginger became the best friend of every the Black kid in the village. That Buxton banna never picked a fight with anyone again!

Bibi, Prashad was trained as an adult to break a human's windpipe. Thank goodness I did not get that training in Guyana. In Guyana, I almost dislocated a student's eye from his head and I beat another student to a pulp. I am not proud of those acts today. Instead of fighting pick up your school books and study hard. Let the fighting be at exam time.

Is where Ayuh went to school where knocking out eyes, breaking windpipes and beating to a pulp was the order of the day? Sounds animal farm!
where I came from, such escalation quickly prompted intervention from the school, who brought in parents. You injured someone like that, you may involve the police.
Was it black kids Alyuh used to beat to a pulp and knock out eyes or Ayuh Mattie coolie? Just asking?
