There is a dancing program on television named “Nritter Taale Taale” which is still running with pride. Even the program's title remains the same. Once upon a time there were famous classical dancers Kajol Ibrahim and Anjona Sultana in television. The producers noticed that these two dancers can portrait dramatic face with their facial expressions. Thus the producers started planning with the new idea. They have decided to make drama with them. Kajol Ibrarhim was not interested in drama. But Anjona Sultana was slightly interested. At that time Anjona used to take lessons of classical music regularly.
The producers were thinking how to make Anjona a heroine of drama. At that time there was a film became super hit in Bombay. Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini were in the lead roles in that film. The name of the film was “Mehbuba”. In that film Hema Malini's role was a dancer.
The songs of that film were famous in Dhaka. Moniruzzaman Moni was asked to write up two lyrics about a dancer. Thus a story has been made on a classical dancer. The producer was Kazi Kayum. And that was the first time the audiences could see Anjona Sultana as an actress.
On later, everyone probably knows about the acting of Anjona Rahman in our film industry. Singer Fatema Tuz Zohra also acted in television drama. Fatema Tuz Zohra performed in a drama on Bangladesh Television produced by Nowajish Ali Khan. Later, Fatema Tuz Zohra acted in some package dramas and in a special drama by Kazi Nazrul Islam. In this special drama famous researching specialist on Nazrul Dr. Rajib Humayun acted with Fatema Tuz Zohra.
Artist Fatema Tuz Zohra has presented herself in television with various acts. Once she has sung in a translated song program. In that program she has sung a Bangla translation of a famous foreign song. But, she has taken the costume of a complete Negro person. This personal presentation of Fatema Tuz Zohra have made the audiences amazed.
Afzal Hossain used to run a magazine program in television named “AponPriyo”. It has to be mentioned that Afzal Hossain proved how modern programs can beat the face of traditional programs. In this program Afzal Hossain telecasted a very rare interview of Kazi Anwar Hossain (the writer of Masud Rana). In this program “AponPriyo”, Fatema Tuz Zohra have performed as a co-anchor. At that time in this program Afzal Hossain used to call Fatema Tuz Zohra with her nickname “Togor”. Aside from these Fatema Tuz Zohra even write rhymes and poems.
Television is such medium where if anyone want to survive then he or she obviously has to be creative. Without being creative one can come in television for once or twice but not for so long.
