Khushi ke sath duniya mein, Hazaron gam bhi hote hain Along with happiness in this world, there are a thousand sorrows Jahan bajati hain shahanai, Vahan matam bhi hote nain Where the shehnai (wedding flute) plays, there is also a dirge
(Mera jivan sathi bichhad gaya, lo khatam kahani ho gai My life's mate has left me, the story is ended Lo khatam kahani ho gai)2 the story has ended
(Qismat ne kiye vo dil pe sitam do chahane vale mil na sake)2 Fate dealt such a blow to our hearts, that two lovers could not meet (Kahane ko bahar ai thi magar do phul khushi ke khil na sake)2 Spring arrived in name only, two flowers of happiness could not bloom Aramanon ka gulashan bigad gaya barabad javani ho gai The garden of desires has withered away, the youth lost
Lo khatam kahani ho gai The story has ended
(Dil deke yahan sab har gaye duniya mein kisiki jit kahan)2 Having lost our hearts, we lost everything, who can win in this world? (Hothon pe hain shikave qismat ke vo pyar bhare ab git kahan)2 Our lips lament our fate, where are those songs of love? Jab khel hi dil ka bigad gaya har baat purani ho gai When the game of the heart has been lost, all else is the same old story
Lo khatam kahani ho gai The story has ended
(Mera jivan sathi bichhad gaya, lo khatam kahani ho gai My life's mate has left me, the story is ended Lo khatam kahani ho gai)2 The story has ended

This is one of my Talat's Favorite: Saw that movie decades ago, and still remember that stunning performance of Dilip Saab:
The opening shayr certainly raises the goosebumps. Closely listening to the voice of Talat in this one......one can only remenisence is awe!!!Venkat
Babul was the only film in the 1950âēs where Talat Mahmood sang for Naushad. Naushad didnât repeat Talat for the next 18 years, despite the success of Babul. The reason behind not repeating Talat for the next 18 years is mentioned by Subhash K. Jha in âMohd. Rafi â The Virtuosoâ. âAngered with Talat Mahmood, whom he found smoking during a recording, the perfectionist composer, hired Rafi on a whim and decided that he would sing all the songs of Baiju Bawra.â.
However, Naushad had high opinion of Talat Mahmoodâs singing abilities. According to Indian Express dated 20th September 1981, Naushad said, âI have a very high opinion of Talat Mahmood. He has a fine style. When he sings ghazals, it is in his own unique inimitable sweet style. Sweetness is indispensable to a proper singing of the ghazal. Besides, he has mastery over the language. He knows which words to emphasize and which not to. You will never hear any lines misread from Talat Mahmoodâs lips!â.
When he sang in Kabul Afghanistan as the royal guest of King Zahir Shah, the women in the palace competed to get themselves photographed with him. He got a ticker tape welcome in Mauritius. The late Anwar Sadat, president of Egypt, was one of his fans. But the ultimate accolade came from Pakistan â at the packed Karachi stadium, Pakistani women came in thousands to listen to him. It was a first.
It was also a display of star quality. But as he acted in films and spent months abroad on concerts, music directors and producers had to look for other playback singers. As a result, Talatsaab lost out on some memorable films like Madhumati.
Aa teri tasaveer bana loon main apni taqdeer bana loon Come, let me draw a picture of you, let me make you my destiny Dil ke kore kaagaz par ulfat ki lakeer bana loon On the blank page of my heart, let me draw lines of rapture
Aa teri tasaveer bana loon ... Come, let me draw a picture of you, let me make you my destiny
(Rang hamaare teri javaani ban jaaye ek prem kahaani)2 My palette will be your youth, may it be a story of love Door kisi ko lene ja ke sun loon aur suna loon That I spread far and wide, and that I hear told
Aa teri tasaveer bana loon main apni taqdeer bana loon Come, let me draw a picture of you, let me make you my destiny
(Baal hain baadal jaise kaale saagar se naina matavaale)2 Tresses like the dark clouds, the eyes with the intoxication of wine Tere gulaabi gaalon se ji karata hai rang chura loon The heart tells me to steal the colours from your rosy cheeks
Aa teri tasaveer bana loon main apni taqdeer bana loon Come, let me draw a picture of you, let me make you my destiny Dil ke kore kaagaz par ulfat ki lakeer bana loon On the blank page of my heart, let me draw lines of rapture
5) AA TERI TASAVEER BANALOON: Aa teri tasaveer bana loon main apni taqdeer bana loon [/b] Come, let me draw a picture of you, let me make you my destiny
