The Secretary speaks. The people of Guyana have spoken. Let our vote count. Time for Dictators to go.
So why the delay yesterday and today ??? Answer: to give time for lawyers to get to a judge (Justice Holder) and get an injunction to stop the recount of votes agreed by the leaders of the two main parties, GECOM and CARICOM Secretariat !!! How could this be in a civilized country ... injunction granted ex-parte to boot ... the fight continues !!!!
Heart warming ...
Where is CJ Roxanne George Wiltshire? Did they put her under house arrest because she ruled in favour of getting things done lawfully?
Is Holder a Granger appointed Judge?
The United States Government on Tuesday increased pressure for there to be a credible and transparent vote count in Guyana from the March 2 elections, warning of serious consequences if a Government is formed based on electoral fraud.
âItâs important to note that the individuals who seek to benefit from electoral fraud and form illegitimate governments â regimes â will be subject to a variety of serious consequences from the United States,â said Mike Pompeo, the US Secretary of State. He was speaking at a press briefing Tuesday.
He said the United States is closely monitoring the tabulation of votes here and joins with the OAS, the Commonwealth, the European Union, CARICOM and other democratic partners in calling for an accurate count.
âWe commend CARCIOMâs role in seeking a swift democratic resolutionâĶ,â Pompeo stated.
A high-level team from CARICOM arrived in Guyana last Saturday night to supervise a national recount after opposition parties and international and local observers denounced thevote count for Region Four, saying numbers were jacked up in favour of the APNU+AFC Coalition and that the vote count did not follow a clear court order for the Statements of Poll from the Region to be displayed so that all stakeholders could see.
President David Granger, Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo and the CARICOM Secretary-General have signed the agreement to allow the CARICOM High-Level team to supervise a national recount, but the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), which had already agreed to the exercise, has now said it wants to get legal advice first before it proceeds.
Hey Dave, be aware that when you post stuff from FB, you may probably expose your identity as well as others in the group.
Understand this. Many conspirators in the GPF, GECOM, business have crossed into the dark side with their PNC friends. There is no going back. They can be arrested and tried for treason. They are on the brink with nothing to lose.
If the US decides to turn the screws, the Coalition will fracture and you will see dissent in the ranks and possibly armed confrontation!
The PNC will lose as the world community will not tolerate the triumph of hooligans over the rule of law.
Thanks for the heads up Mitt! Much Appreciated.
The Lone Granger is afraid that Bharrat is right. Bring in the RCMP, FBI and Scotland Yard to look at the SOPS for forgeries.
You want to see the shit hit the fan. Let Trump order the 4th Fleet to move closer to Guyana!
Breaking News!!
Court action to stop the declaration and counting of votes
High Court Judge Franklyn Holder has granted an injunction blocking a national recount of votes cast on March 02, 2020.
President David Granger, Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo and the CARICOM Secretariat had agreed to a national recount of all votes with a CARICOM high-level team to supervise the process. But Justice Holder also granted an injunction to block the recount until the matter is heard on Friday.
The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), which had agreed to the recount, on Tuesday said it was awaiting legal advice. Up to press time, GECOM had not said if it received that advice.
The News Room will update this story as more information becomes available.
Everyday, every hour it's getting more ridiculous , re-count ,no re-count ,when this nonsense will end ???
When a judge grants PPP lawyers an injunction it is fine:when a judge grants the Coalition an injunction it is a travesty. And some people expect others to take them seriously when they claim they are fighting for justice. Have you been watching/reading what Coalition supporters are saying on other fora? Have a look --it may open your eyes and even your minds.
Mid night tonight will be the expiry of the 15 days after an election, could it be that will be an official declaration and Granger be sworn in office.???
The Saga Continues, Only in SHIT HOLE Guyana.
GECOM to declare the election results shortly.
If the injunction granted by High Court Judge Franklyn Holder is upheld, it begs the question on the process/suggestions for the pending recount.
Overall though, the issue for the proper tabulation of Region 4 remains in conflict with the method used for the other nine Regions.
I am filing this one under: Constitutional Jiggery-Pokery 2020.
Basically..GECOM is allowed to declare the "winner" of a fradulent election process...
Only in a shithole contry, ruled by shitholes, and supported by some shitholes (especially here on GNI)
Django, I saw the statement you posted by Harmon . The law allows a recount if requested within 24 hours. PPP and the other contesting parties follow the law and make this request for Region 4. However, the statute of limitations for the remaining 9 regions expired.
Django gonna get his wish - Guyana is now under Mingo law which says âbring on the sanctionsâ
The election fiasco will go away just like the Coronavirus, give it Six months. If this is allowed to brush passed, Would there EVER be a Free and Fair Election in Guyana, AGAIN!!!
The request for re-count within the legal required time can be denied.
Guyana need an independent Election Commission ,free from Political hacks.
The Coalition won the election narrowly despite PPP jiggery pokery. Bharrat Jagdeo is surrounded by a bunch of crooks and he, Bharrat, lies with a straight face. They spent hundreds of millions of illegal campaign contributions bribing people, distributing fake IDs, hiring a firm specializing in misinformation etc. Despite all this the Coalition won.
If this injunction is granted, the fraud charges must proceed.
They, the PPP have until Friday.
Tabulation for Region 4 is inconsistent with the Laws of Guyana and does not correspond to the proper process for the other nine -9- Regions.
Specific issue relates Region 4 recount as per the proper process.
I donât see this ending well one way or the other.
They can fool around. The world is watching. Nothing has changed regards to the international community. They have all concluded the tabulation of region 4 was fraudulent. Nothing will change that. Let them form their illegal govt and let it go to the end game.
The CARICOM high-level team that was due to oversee a recount of votes cast at the March 2 elections has decided to call it quits and will today depart Guyana as a court order today blocked the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) from proceeding although both President David Granger and Opposition Leader Bharrat Jagdeo agreed to the process, sources this afternoon confirmed.
See stabroeknews. I am at work
Yes, this could be a watershed event depending on the resolve on the international community to take substantive actions and not your run of the mill paper condemnation, We will see.
If Granger swears in on the bases of the Region 4 declaration. PPPC only recourse is by way of an Election Petition. However, PPP is set to file an application in an effort to set aside the injunction.
Granger taking an oat will open the door for sanction.
