Me believe you living in the past bhai.

No! The past is now living with you.

I think you are counting on the wrong to do the right thing - develop Guyana and ensure the survival of its democratic gains over the last two decades.

Why no word from them when Blackman was taken off an aircraft at JFK for being involved in illegal drug activity. Any reasons?

At least they built  if the PNC is allowed to rob the treasury. If every time $5M is missing, imagine what will happen.

The IMF reports that foreign exchange reserves haven't deteriorated from the PPP era, and that there is a budget surplus instead of a deficit and public debt has DECLINED.

At least the accountants are doing their job.  Even if those who are supposed to be creative and innovative and create conditions to move the economy from the WWII one that the PPP left haven't been as effective.

You can whine, jump and scream but neither the IMF nor the WB think that these guys are doing a bad job.

I'll provide one anecdote - a Guyanese-American businessman in New York had a proposal to open up a garment factory in Guyana during the PPP days of the mid-aughts. Jagdeo gave him a hard time and he ended up opening this garment factory in the Dominican Republic.

And this is it.  Ex communist can only think of speculative activities and corruption.  Putin=Jagdeo.

And the DR is as corrupt as it comes too, so it only goes to show how bad Guyana was/is.

Clearly the USSR Moscow trained communist clerk turned president did no better.  It says a lot if by 2016 the manufacturing sector was worse than it was in 1991.  How did Jagdeo accomplish this?

No one is trained as a communist.  And stop cussing your brother.

This is what reparations and drugs money does to the country. They have become too lazy to grow their own food. It's not about whether you can buy imported food cheaper. It is about foreign currency and balance of trade deficit. It is also about creating employment for those who are looking for work. We can't be a country of food shops and restaurants only.

We must give the PNC credit when it comes toPlantain Chips.  Rabbi and House of Israel created jobs for the youths by capturing the chip market around the cinemas and shops in GT. Now we have chips in phones and everything else. It's time for production of a different kind of chips if we really want to make money and create jobs. I don't think the PNC can do this even with the wood computer- man, Gerhard Ramsaroop.

In fact Granger has indeed spoken about agriculture in Guyana.  He just thinks that agriculture isn't just about GuySICKO as the PPP thought.

Just about every one in the Caribbean has shut down, or miniaturized their sugar industries.  Even places like the DR and Cuba which were sugar exporting powerhouses 35 years ago.

So why did the PPP chose to EXPAND sugar when every one warned them that it was a bad idea. TK used to write lengthily explaining why the Skeldon factory would fail.  Stubborn Jagdeo screamed and ranted and howled that he knows every thing.  And now he left GuySICKO to Guyanese to save from its deathbed.  I suggest that GuySICKO should be SOLD.  Yuji wants to buy it.

The problem is that the majority of black man don't want to go into agriculture unless Burnham appear on horseback with a whip and re-invoke the Guyfarms from the dead.  Granger looking to the Indian community to fill the void, however at the same time he purge them wholesale from the govt and positions of power.

And even when Cheddi tried to force Indians into the police and GDF they refused to go.  Your point?  Thanks to our wonderful colonial history Indians think that being a policeman is "blackman wuk".

And blacks began to associate farming with poverty when their farms were flooded by the planters and the only way that they could rise out of poverty was through teaching, nursing, trades, mining and the civil service.

Ever wonder why blacks in islands like Jamaica go into agriculture.  Grenada growing their world famous nutmegs. Dominicans, St Lucian and Vincentian blacks also very involved in farming.

Jamaica exports non traditional foods (products other than sugar) to FL, Canada and the UK. And not only into the Caribbean markets either.

So go haul your racist ass.

So why do the people who are actually make things tell you that you are an idiot for claiming that between May 2015 and August 2015 there were mass closures in the manufacturing sector?

The GMSA didn't say that manufacturing improved between 1992 and 2015.  They said that in the 70s and 80s a much broader range of products were made in Guyana than what occurred after the 90s.

Your PPP allowed the tycoons to destroy Guyanese manufacturing by importing cheap products.

When I left Guyana in 1987, there was hardly anything on the shop shelves. We had widespread small trading which brought Guyanese much needed commodities. To deny that the PNC had a role in the transformation of Guyana into a greatly dependent nation is to deny history. That trend continued after the government changed perhaps because it was easier and quicker business like what happened to many US businesses.

Listen banna, wlast you checked, the agro industry in Guyana is not only about rice and Sugar, and all sectors, industrial to cash crop is dominated by Indians.  Blacks prefer to "drudge" and do civil service jobs, very few want to do commercial and even less want to go Agro.

On the issue of why Guyana imports these products, one needs to study the economics rather than shooting in the dark.  I believe it's linked to the success of the PPP in developing the economy which then say a spurt of restaurants and catering services outstripping the capacity of local suppliers.  This is a result of better opportunities for those wanting to work and a segment of who don't want to work even though they are struggling.

In the end, this is a far cry from the destitution which was Guyana under the PNC and the success of the economy under PPP. One now needs to address the issues giving rise to this.

However, give me the PPP somewhat chaotic growth model over the PNC corrupt starvation model!!  At least the PPP left some substance to work with unlike the PNC empty belly nothingness!

By 1991 the shelves were no longer empty. Hoyte fixed the problem that Burnham created with his communism.   He also prevented crazy Janet from taking Guyana into Cuba whole hog.

Look at Cuba and just understand that the Jagans would have taken Guyana to the same place.  I bet that you left on BWIA or GAC.   Cubans must leave in car tires with fishing boat engines.  Janet would have forced you to swim across the Takutu River.
