What are these idiots are selling to the diaspora? Or are they just reaching out to more multinational corporations to invite them to rape the jungle and pillage the land of its natural resources?  They have no source of cheap energy as they destroyed the Amelia project. Now they trying to get people to invest in a furiously crumbling economy.

I would still likle to understand, apart from mining and natural resource extraction, what value proposition and they putting forward to attract business.  Guyana is not an attractive market to sell into, so they must have in mind an (re) exportable value proposition. Infrastructure is lacking, energy is expensive and unreliable, available skills are limited.

They cuss the PPP so much and promise they can do better.  lets see what they can do. I tell you, they dont know their head from their tail.

I wonder if Cathy Hughes' special friend, Fip Motilall is going to be there.

Cathy knows how to do business --- good at cutting from both sides.

A year ago, dear Cathy was screaming and wailing to the Guyanese people that she will sell the Marriott.  Today is a good chance to sell it to Motilall!  She only has two weeks left on the job.

They should take their business investment conference to Medgar Evers or York College. Harvard is too prestigious for these bums.

They are not doing this at Harvard

I find you funny. You said that the coalition gov't isn't doing anything to grow the economy.

Yet when they do something about it, you get angry.  Had the PPP being doing this you would ne jumping up and down like a chimp daring any one to condemn this conference.

When the PPP had their little roti shop meetings in RH to talk to real estate and mortgage brokers you thought that was great. Now the coalition try to meet people who are outside of that group you and the rest of your brown KKK are angered.

It is a GOOD thing to try to educate mainstream investors about what Guyana has to offer!

Thought part of the jubilee initiatives was to attract investors.

This is the Jubilee initiative to attract investors. Now wipe away your tears that something positive might be happening.

The PPP screamed that there were private investors and that when we said there weren't that we were liars.

So where were these investors? This was NOT supposed to be a gov't owned project!

Admission Fee = US$250.

Very cheap for an investor conference.  Trinidad last year had one for 3X the amount.

Yeah but let's put this into context.  The person from Trinidad had an education.  We talking about No eye contact boy Dominic here whose only claim to fame is that he is Granger's son-in-law.

What kind of project was it supposed to be and who are you to decide that?

Marriott was supposed to be a privately owned hotel.  This was the justification.  That is fine as private people can do what ever they wish with their money.

It is a slap in the face of private investors who built hotels when Jagdeo screamed that they should do so for the Cricket World Cup for the PPP to do this.

G/T does NOT have a shortage of hotel rooms.

Marriott will NOT attract  people to Guyana who wouldn't travel there any where.

The PPP ought to have been spending money is areas that would have developed the eco adventure tourist sector.

They were too cheap to build a rail at Kaieteur Falls to prevent people from slipping over, and yet they could find millions (US dollars) to build a facility that should have been a private sector initiative.

Harvard Club is a restaurant in Manhattan...not Harvard U which is in Boston which some of you are thinking about

It is the Harvard Club, available for Harvard graduates and their guests. Many business events are held there. I have been there several times.

Dominic is playing a very minor role in this event.   Look at the program. Its online.

It is the same thing.   Harvard alumni and faculty, and their guests can use the facility. It is a Harvard U affiliated facility.  Other Ivy's also have clubs, Yale being one, and Princeton another.

Correct. And they are all walking distance from each other.  They also have rooming facilities for guests to stay over, restaurants, gym, etc.  Nice high rent district!!!

No one is thinking Harvard university in Boston.  We all know where the Harvard club is and several of us have attended events there.

Well than, if someone says if they switching from Harvard to Medger Evers, I don't think they talking about the club in NYC since that is a club and not the actual university.

That's right.  They offer hair cuts there too.

While you guys are quibbling about Harvard Club, Gilbakka will sip a Club Soda and wait for a news bulletin on the outcome of the event and the "investment opportunities" available in Guyana.
