* You're damn right about that---most important election since 1953.  It's quite historic.

* Moses deserves all the kudos that head his way---well earned, indeed.

* By the way, David Granger also deserves a ton of credit for acquiescing to the COALITION with the AFC---he showed remarkable wisdom---the man knows his history---he looked at the historical numbers and told himself---no way the PNC can win alone.

The PPP gained 7037 more votes than APNU/AFC in Region 2

The PPP gained 16053 more votes than APNU/AFC in Reg 3

The PPP gained 1573 more votes than APNU/AFC in Region 5

The PPP gained 9928 more votes than APNU/AFC in Region 6

Add all those gains for the PPP in regions 2, 3, 5, and 6 and you get + 34591 for the PPP

APNU + AFC gained 34612 more votes than the PPP in region 4

DOING THE MATH

* APNU + AFC was ahead of the PPP by 21 votes in regions 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 in 2011

* In 2015 the PPP is ahead by 12K votes in regions 2,3,4,5, and 6

BOTTOM LINE:

* APNU + AFC needs to be ahead of the PPP by 12001 votes in regions 1, 7, 8, 9, and 10 if they are to win.

* Back in 2011---APNU + AFC was ahead of the PPP by 8804 votes in those regions

* THIS IS TIGHT---we know the turnouts were massive.

* Only a few thousand votes will separate the winner from the loser.

Rev

APNU AFC supposedly ahead of PPP by 14,500, meaning net lead of 2,500 if your 12k PPP lead is correct.

APNU AFC will beat the PPP in Region 7, though the margins might not be large, based on 2011 results.  APNU AFC should beat the PPP in Region 8, though not by large margins as this is an extremely low turn out area, maybe due to its transient mining population.

So it is up to Regions 1 and 9.  The PPP beat APNU AFC by 2700 in 2011.

Did APNU AFC widen its lead in Regions 7 and 8, and encroach the PPP in Regions 1 and 9?

* At this point I don't really care about the numbers.

* It seems as if the coalition has won----well that's what Granger and Nagamootoo said---I'll take them at their word---GECOM should just declare the winner---why keep the country in suspense.

* THE GUYANESE PEOPLE VOTED FOR CHANGE.

* Change it will be---and I'll wish the new administration all the best.

Wrong for the 3rd time.  Give forecasting a rest.

Number one priority fix GECOM.  LGE is coming and those elections should be even more complex.  For one thing Guyanese haven't had this since 1994 and so most voters will have no idea as to how it works, who they are voting for, or even what it is all about.

* Well! In life you win some and lose some. Looks like the Rev is a master at LOSING election PREDICTIONS.hahahahaha

* By the way, it looks like the PPP is being SOUR GRAPES. They say they are winning.

* Like I said---I have already resigned myself to Guyana having new leaders.

It is to be understood that a party which has had absolute power for 22 years will feel anxious and angry at it being rejected by the population.

Maybe the PPP needs to focus on becoming a multi racial entity as APNU AFC are attempting to be.  No one race can win elections, and if the PPP loses, this should be their big take away.

I told you that you were not a numbers man. You never told us how far up your poop chute you were able to insert your head to pull out your numbers.

Come to think of it Mits, that's probably where the colours in his posts come from, especially dat red one, red could be when he's going through that ringburn feeling.

* Based on the early numbers----I must admit---the PPP grossly underestimated Moses.

Rev

I raised caution a few days ago.   I met some Indians voting for the opposition.  They were fed up with the PPP corruption and the PNC outreach to the AFC was tipping point in their decision to finally go with the opposition.

This win (if true) could be the end of race politics in Guyana. If the new Govt rule responsibly, it could signal a sea change.  The PPP will need to go into recess and contemplate their future model.  With this, lets hope the national military takes a neutral position in future elections.  Parties should be voted in and out on the issues and by the people.
