Billy Joel will make "The Last Play at Shea" in a final concert at Shea Stadium on July 16.

The Piano Man will perform the night after baseball's All-Star game at Yankee Stadium, the Mets announced Thursday.

"It's an honor to help throw Shea the ultimate concert farewell party," said Joel, 58. "As a sports fan and a music lover, I will always have a place for Shea Stadium in my heart. I thank the Mets for giving me and my fans a chance to rock Shea Stadium one last time for the ages."

Sometimes when I listen to these songs fr the past ...I can only speak for myself, such bitter/sweet memories.. the days of not having too much money, trying to get an education and getting your parents to understand that you need breathing space... the parties, with simple things, but one that u enjoyed so much because u are with the ppl u like to be with... my beautiful days of growing up...so many times I wish I had told my dad sorry for being upset with him ...but was all good.. wavey.gif

It was the last concert they did (I think) before Maurice passing... Celine Dion made an appearance...if u cant get a copy let me know I can cut one for you.. when I first saw it it was on PBS and they were selling the CD and video as a package, so I ordered it..then later on I saw it at HMV for lots cheaper...dont buy it I can burn u a copy if u want..
