Prevail.....as in declaring the NC motion void?

Shumam saying he will do it is one thing...actually doing it is another...

... if the government win the 34/32  (you mentioned 33/34), they will hold on to power for dear life...until its constitutionally due in 2020....

However, this will open a can of worms...the 1/3 who hold dual citizenship should be disqualified also...

...If Guyanese take to the streets in protest, the army will be called out to maintain law and order...

Shuman, who has held Canadian citizenship for 28 years, was asked how soon he will be relinquishing his Canadian citizenship.

“I really don’t know the process. I have to obviously sit down and have a discussion with the Canadian High Commission and obviously with the Government of Canada,” he said before admitting that it is not a very easy thing to do and it is “a really big issue for a lot of people, friends and family because they think that it is a bit foolish.”

Is it norm for not getting the facts correct, before presenting such ???

It’s bull crap.  You don’t just up and renounce your citizenship and walk away after so long.  It’s a longer legal process with lots of legal implications.   It will certainly take longer than election date in March.

Him just saying it don’t make it so.  Shuman just making Ayuh head spin.

What's so difficult with this process?

To be eligible to renounce your Canadian citizenship, you must:

  • be a Canadian citizen;
  • prove that you are or that you will become a citizen of a country other than Canada if your application to renounce is approved;
  • not live in Canada;
  • be at least 18 years old;
  • not be a threat to Canada’s security or part of a pattern of criminal activity; and
  • understand the significance of renouncing your Canadian citizenship.

The Election Commission should step up and applied the law, when the List of Candidates are presented.

He will have to renounce his Canadian citizenship before he files his List of Candidates.  It is not a long process in can happen in 1 day.

Bibi, seems you got the art of cut and paste. Anyway the CEO of GECOM can't make the decision to meet the CHIEF WHIPS, that authority have to be given by the GECOM Chairman.

No hullabaloo there, the law is the law.

The law also says that the government must resign and assume caretaker status until elections are held within 90 days.  No hullabaloo there.

The trouble though Django is that even Patterson said last week that he doctor said he can return to work but folks from the government told him to take more time off to get better.

When I worked in Guyana back in the 80s, I heard a co-worker seeking to get something done did not accept the explanation that the person to do it was not available. She said, "what if he dies, someone else will still have to do it". The crooked PNC clutching at another straw send the man into hiding so they can remain illegally in office.

It is despotic because even Patterson said that his doctor said he can return to work. He stated last week that folks from the government told him to take more time to get better. His skont wasn't there when the local elections were held. Nothing from the previous PNC and the current one convinces me that the PNC ever cared about what is the law. If the man's 'illness' is going to be an impediment then it is best if he just dies so the work or the Guyanese people can continue.

Trust me. I have given up on being irrational or emotional. The actions of the PNC makes it very easy to dislike them. What the f uck is so hard for them to do the right thing? Are they so scared of the voters right now? Or is it worse. They feel that they don't require the consent of the voters to remain in power. The previous PNC didn't think the voters consent was required.

Little brother, there is a process let it take the course.There is no stymieing of Elections. The voters will decide who will govern after the elections.

What I know of the PNC, they don't care about process. Their current actions is making it very easy for me to remain convinced of that. Yesterday, you assured me that Ally and Teixeira will be meeting with GECOM to work out the details of the elections due no later than March 19, 2019. Today we read that GECOM is refusing to meet with them and is instructing them to instead write to old man Patterson. The trouble is that old man Patterson has no time to talk to them right now. He is too busy arguing with the angel Michael because Michael told him that after he dies, he is going straight to hell.

What can be said of Granger's judgment for unanimously picking old man Patterson who already had one foot in the grave to be an impediment to GECOM operations? Looks like not only was old man Patterson who was not fit and proper but so is Granger.

Granger was looking for a Judge, also he claims it's Constitutional. The Judicial branch of government agreed,HIS ACTIONS WAS CONSTITUTIONAL.

There is disagreement the GECOM chairman to be a judge, any other persons with such qualities fits.

there are VERY GOOD REASONS the Guyana Gov't is elected for terms of 5 years and not, let's say, 1 year

the PPP attempted a 'Constitutional' coup d'ÃĐtat to thwart the will of the voters using a compromised, illegally-sitting MP as their instrument

NOBODY "elected" that fraud Charandaas to anything

yesss, let's talk about the "consent of the voters" . . . they spoke clearly on that issue in 2015!

That is all fine now. He, however, picked someone who was clearly not fit and now that he seems to be in collusion with the PNC to stymy the elections, is also not proper.

Now these fools talking about the consent of the voters in 2015. The same fools who were on the band wagon in 2014 to limit the 5 years term of Ramotar's government. And since when did the PNC ever preserved the 5 years rule? The 1980 elections came 7 years after the 1973 one and the 1992 came 7 years after the 1985 one. The 1985 was held on time because of the death of Burnham. Is it always necessary for the death of a PNC leader for elections to preserve the 5 years rule?

Making up shit about Charrandas is just clutching at more straws.
