OK Folks:

* In this thread you'll read about exciting, positive developments that's taking place in Guyana.

* This thread will deeply offend the WHINERS & WETBLANKETS who daily bombard GNI with nonsense and negativity.

* The Rev is a cheerful, upbeat and optimistic gentleman, and I intend to share positive and encouraging news pertaining to economic progress in good old Guyana.

$100 MILLION(Guy) COMPUTERIZED ASPHALT PLANT COMMISSIONED IN BERBICE--COULD PRODUCE 60 TONS OF ASPHALT PER HOUR

See link:

http://guyanachronicle.com/100...of-asphalt-per-hour/

READ PRAISE FOR THE RAMOTAR GOVERNMENT:

Over the years, the Government of Guyana has been moving in the direction of improving the quality of roads and with the introduction of the asphalt plant, entrepreneurs are encouraged to embark on new projects.

Joseph Lewis, brother of Peter Lewis, told the gathering: “Irrespective of what is being pedaled by the naysayers and doomsayers, the PPP/C is doing a lot for the business sector by providing a conducive environment for investors.”

============

* Another example of Progress and positive development in Guyana.

* The nattering nabobs of negativity---the cynics, complainers and sourpusses who bombard GNI with daily nonsense would never post these positive and exciting developments in Guyana.

RUPUNUNI GETS SEED FINANCING FOR AGRI, TOURISM BUSINESSES

From left to right: IDB Country Representative Sophie Makonnen; GBTI Chief Executive Officer John Tracey; Finance Minister, Dr Ashni Singh; and CI-Guyana Vice President and Executive Director, Dr David Singh

READ MORE:

Residents in Rupununi, southern Guyana can now tap into a GUY$60 million Investment Fund to fund a range of small and medium scale agriculture and tourism enterprised, the Government Information Agency (GINA) reported. Funding is being provided by the Guyana government, in collaboration with the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry and Conservation International (CI) Guyana.

Authorities said the emphasis of the Project on local and indigenous community based tourism and agriculture enterprises recognises the potential of the region to increase its contribution to both of these sectors.

This is how the PPP needs to highlight it's massive development and plans for future development of Guyana.

Let us think back at what the PNC and Carl Greenidge gave us:

A dead economy.

Massive Debt

Massive Corruption, not one single Ministry was audited

Sugar Dead

Rice dead

Mining Dead

Blackout

No Gas

No food, lineups for basic items everywhere

OnlyPNC card carrying members could have access to basic food items

Kick Down the Door Bandits

No TV

No free Media

Political Prisoners

Rigged and Frigged Elections

You get my point.

Thanks for speaking of real progress in Guyana.

Why is the population of Guyana falling.  Between 2002 and 2012 there were 124k births exceeding deaths. Without migration there would now be 875k people living in Guyana.  But we only have 740k, meaning that there was net loss due to migration of 130k.

* MIGRATION HAS BEEN A POSITIVE FOR GUYANA.

* REMITTANCES: It was $415 million(US) in 2013---17% of GDP.

* Remittances are spent on general consumption items---in local schemes and villages and towns---that contribute to local economies by supporting small businesses in Guyana.

* Now, let's say 700K Guyanese have migrated----right now you have high unemployment with the current 700+K population-----could you imagine the unemployment rate with 2X 700+K population ?

BOTTOM LINE:

* Migration has been a positive for Guyana.

THE CHINESE ARE DESPISED BY THE PNC AND THE AFC BUT THEY HAVE MADE IMMENSE CONTRIBUTIONS TO GUYANA DEVELOPMENT

President Ramotar is pleased with the increasing influx of Chinese taking up residence in Guyana and investing in the country.

READ MORE:

Of recent times, Chinese citizens and investors have been subjected to much verbal and physical attacks by a particular grouping in Guyana’s socio-political demographics. So a timely reminder seems appropriate that the Chinese also contributed to the development of Guyana; and when Guyanese like Paul Chan-a-Sue and many other descendants of a mighty and ancient civilization are degraded in a homeland to which they have contributed with unparalleled commitment, then this newspaper refuses to remain silent, and so the following is to remind those anxious to denigrate our fellow citizens to take cognisance of the following facts.

* 80% of Indians solidly support the PPP----the others 20% are the cuffy lovers and dirty PNC Indians like losers Mike Persaud of Richmond Hill, Queens, Flower boy Gerard Ramsaroop, and Donkey Cart Economist Tarron Kimraj.

* 70% of Amerindians solidly support the PPP.

* And right now 90% of Chinese solidly support the PPP----the other 10% need to have their heads examined.

* Oh! Let's not forget the lovely afro Guyanese women----they love Prezzy----in the next election the PPP can expect a slight increase in afro support.

Interesting.  People have a hard time, so they leave.  People have a hard time so they must beg their overseas based relatives for cash.

Understand this though.  The kids of the folks who left Guyana aren't going to send money back. It is becoming more difficult to migrate to the USA and Canada and the Islanders no longer have jobs for Guyanese.

So what then?

You are smoking crack if you think that black people live Ramotor.  They didn't 2 1/2 years ago, so what has Ramotar has done since?  Black people are in a very bad state now.  Low wages and escalating living costs and massive unemployment.  They can no longer run off to the Islands to make a quick buck, and lower gold prices has made life very difficult for small scale miners.

The Chinese Guyanese are all in Toronto.  The Chinese foreigners come to work on projects for Chinese, and then return home.  They don't care anything about Guyana.  Given the sordid conditions that many work under voting in Guyana is the last thing that matters. Any way how many of them have the right to vote.

For people not from Commonwealth countries, they need to live in Guyana for at least 10 years to get citizenship and then the right to vote.  Virtually no Chinese live that long.  They either go back to China, or they move on elsewhere.  So stop counting Chinese votes.  they don't exist.

The Indian voting population is declining.  80% of 45% is 36%.  Amerindian voter turnout is low.  Just compare the numbers of people who vote in Regions 1.7. 8 and 9 with their populations.  So assuming that 70% of Amerindians vote PPP, that is another 5%.  So we are at 41%.

The growing part of the voting population are mixed voters, maybe 15% and INCREASING.  They tend to vote PNC or AFC.

I see the PPP joining the PNC as the 40% parties.

Cheerleeding for the PPP with a litany of lies will not make them whole or you credible.  Region nine has protests against the Chinese incursion Region 8 have them in court, Orealla protests the fraudulent implantation of their leadership and the give away to Indos, prime front lands that trued their reservation into a display zoo for these people to make money. The PPP has been a cancer on Amerind people. Photo ops with a few does not make these racist crooks good custodians of the native people's weal. They are a curse on us.

The AFC objected to a bribery scheme. It was not a development initiative. It is one of the worse scams against our people where the paying off or 2000 people a small stipend for votes is deemed a development scheme. Of course those missing out on the freebies will complain they are being robbed.

UPDATE ON THE MAZARUNI HYDROELECTRIC PROJECT

The upper mazaruni, a fast steep riverbed with strong current surrounded by hard to penetrate primary forests

RE: THE HYDRO TO BE BUILT BY THE BRAZILLIANS

* There is a Brazillian consortium that is interested in constructing a hydro project in the Mazaruni region.

* They are planning on spending $45 million US on a prefeasibility and then feasibility studies.

* But there have been some delays in getting the studies started---something to do with the Brazillian companies studying the licensing agreements.

See link:

Once the survey licence is agreed, the prefeasibility study will be conducted, followed by a feasibility study.

Queiroz Galvao (QG) and OAS, the two multibilliondollar Brazilian companies that make up the consortium, are investing US$45 million into the prefeasibility and feasibility studies to determine Guyana’s potential to develop hydro-power stations in the Upper and Middle Mazaruni. These processes are expected to take approximately two years once the prefeasibility study has commenced.

http://www.guyanatimesgy.com/2...gn-affairs-minister/

* Now, if that hydro in mazaruni ever gets developed by the Brazilians---that would be HUGE.

* The PNC/AFC are praying for the Brazilians to pull out of this project.

* GOOD NEWS FOR GUYANA IS BAD NEWS FOR THE PNC/AFC

While small hydroelectric developments are useful for local needs, a major project would not only serve Guyana's major requirements but also those for neighbouring country(ise).

Why don't you  stop cheer leading and ask why was this not done a long time ago. Everyone here knows we asked about this a decade ago and per a study by Jagdeo the verdict was we could not do it because we had no wind. Everyone will attest that the conclusion was that was bull shit. There are  real engineers here and not knuckleheaded windbags

Now get off  your  uninformed behind and ask the right questions...why after two decades the people  have never taken the initiative and done something for the people. The reason is simple. Nothing gets done unless there are options for graft or for the benefit of kin. The problem  of this admin is their pernicious greed.

THE REV CHOOSES TO FOCUS ON WHAT IS HAPPENING TODAY IN GUYANA.

* The Guyana business community is receiving 100% support from the PPP government.

* You saw the comments above from Mr. Lewis who was involved in the Asphalt investment in Berbice----he was full of praise for the PPP government.

* KEEP HOPING AND WISHING FOR YOUR BELOVED PNC/AFC TO RULE GUYANA.

* But in the meantime Guyana will progress and prosper under the PPP.

REMEMBER HOW THE PNC/AFC WAS VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE $25 MILLION(US) PROVIDENCE STADIUM ?

* You recently saw tens of thousand of Guyanese excitedly enjoying the CPL T20 cricket matches at Providence.

* There have also been numerous Social activities at the Providence stadium.

OBSERVATION:

* The PNC/AFC is opposed to progress in Guyana---progress in Guyana is bad news for the PNC/AFC.

* But thankfully progress in Guyana will continue as long as the PPP rules Guyana.

Far from it, Rev. I'm happy wherever there is progress. But the progress that you extoll has come at a punitive price.

Many of the showpiece projects look pleasing to the eyes. But below the surface is the cronyism, nepotism, favoritism, bribery, kickbacks, shoddy workmanship, etc.

Not forgetting the blatant discrimination against whole communities deemed to be opposition strongholds, the marginalization of certain communities, the neglect, and so on.

It is a sad thing that 20 percent Afro Guyanese succumb to patronage and bend the knees to this corrupt regime. That 80% of Indians support it is also a tragedy.

Any one would be better under a democracy. Hoyte in his transition and any after him were bound to benefit since the money from donor states were coming in and many NGOs felt safe to do so. This is no credit to the PPP. To their discredit is the fact that despite outspending the PNC many times fold the poverty rates remain constant, the population stagnates as people take flight and the gap between rich and poor expanded obscenely.

Serendipitous benefits given the rich want to live like kings does not equate to progress. This government has been bad for us. They are greedy, grasping and completely disingenuous. They did not take the struggle of the people to move to a dictatorship seriously. Instead, they have become rent seeking thieves whose grassing hands loots everything.
