Revised voters list posted for scrutiny

January 1 2020

Source

The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has posted the Revised List of Electors (RLE) to allow for public scrutiny, the Department of Public Information (DPI) reported yesterday.

The list can be checked for names at https://www.gecom.org.gy/

According to GECOM Public Relations Officer Yolanda Ward, the posting of the 661, 378 names of eligible voters will be displayed over 21 days.

She said, according to DPI,  that the RLE has been posted for public scrutiny and to make corrections to information within the 21-day period. Where changes have to be made, persons should visit registration offices in their respective areas with the β€œpink slip” from January 4 to inform and update accordingly.

Citizens are urged to check to ensure that transactions done during the 2019 registration exercises are correct.

The final product, the PRO pointed out, will be the Official List of Electors.

Nomination day is scheduled for January 10, 2020. General elections are set for March 2, 2020

Don't lie bannas, what facts, you google shyte from wikipedia and unaccredited sources and try to pass it off as fact.

Look how you came up with fuzzy math like cribby and expect people to take you seriously.

The stench from pnc slop can must have a detrimental effect.

That's the worse ,don't quote from that.  Banna dispute the maths ,instead of chasing your tail.

I would ask you to curtail your habits ,depicted in your last sentence.

I back any statements with evidence , do that all the time on GNI.  That's what irks most posters ,when they try to push propaganda.

There goes the problem Django....

Propaganda is a broad term, and we can interpret it’s intend when it is used to promote ones personal belief, like how you said, you are neutral and will identify the corrupt.

But you are YET to call out the corrupt and corruption in APNU/ AFC in the same manner as you do with PPP. If you don’t see this as a problem, then we have problems in the future.

Banna are you sure , i haven't call out corruption by APNU/AFC ? there are two that stands out ,both i have condemn.

I would re-state my beliefs regarding Guyana , which i have done before , no government should be anchored for long periods ,there should be periods of rotating government, the voters should make this happen.

Any way take a look at the meaning of propaganda ,it differs from neutral folks beliefs.

I just saw this. What kind of gin kaak bring ramgoat story hey?

FB posting from Anil Nandlall.

I thought that when the Chairperson of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), approximately two weeks ago, casted her vote in favour of verifying the 16,863 β€œpossible new registrants” emerging from the truncated house-to-house registration exercise, GECOM had accepted that unverified names cannot legally eventuate unto the Revised List of Electors (RLE).

I, therefore, felt fortified when GECOM embarked upon a verification exercise in respect of these 16,863 β€œpossible new registrants”, scrutinized by agents of the political parties.

This verification exercise resulted in 6,535 persons on that list of 16,863 not being verified. I understand this to mean that these persons were not found by the verifiers. Significantly, only 118 of this list of 16,863 were not visited.

After going through with this entire ordeal, GECOM still ends up placing all the 16,863 on the RLE, including 6,417, which GECOM itself has confirmed they could not find and the 118 who were not even visited.

Now, GECOM is requesting the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) to provide evidence to establish that the 6,535 persons do not exist, even though it is GECOM that executed the verification exercise and it is GECOM that disclosed that they were unable to verify the existence or whereabouts of these very persons.

Maybe, I am losing it, but does this make sense to anyone?

Coincidentally, 6,535 votes will constitute over one seat, the difference between APNU & the PPP at the 2015 elections.

The winner will have more than one seat difference ,in the coming elections. I have been looking at recent elections results in Regions 1,7,8,9,10 and came to the conclusion.

Why include the non existent people in the list?

That's why HTH registration was needed to verify the voters are existing. Periodically it have to be done.

Would GECOM chair allow the jumbie names to be on the voters' list? What will happen to the 6000 plus names?

They can't vote .

It can happen Django, here is how.
Take for example Buxton.. opposition polling agent can be intimidated by APNU / AFC supporters, they can leave for their safety... so who is there to object to multiple voting.

Mr X will vote for the jumbie and not dipping his finger in the ink , he then return to vote for himself. There is also the possibility of stuffing the box with the jumbie votes.

It happened in 2015 and GECOM refused to address same when the ballot papers supply by Canada did not match some that was in the boxes.

We are dealing with PNC that rigged election for 28 years, and ONLY the intervention of the ABC country that saw a change.
These same bastard rule of a free election in 2015 and ignored the international law that required a recount if the vote are 2% and less .

They sat silent including CARICOM where the constitution is violated and court orders are ignored.

Carter suggested a effective way how it can be done. Why wasn’t it implemented.

Dave ,i don't believe that APNU/AFC have to rig the 2020 Elections to win .

I still can't believe how Opposition Political parties can rigged elections in 2015.

No one doubting there was rigged elections from 1968 to 1985.

If they can’t vote why were you worried about all the names of alleged non existent people on the list used for the 2015 elections?

All voters list should be credible, that's the norm. Its the duty of the Elections Commission to do so , they receive billions of dollars from the government coffers.

Do you validate the current GECOM voters list that would be used for the March elections if there is such an elections?

Hey Django, how much do you think that 661k is off the true number?

Gathering data from 2012 census about 56,000 .That's not including deceased and migration from the country.

Later i will look into to increase from the 2015 Voters List.

Guyana has a population of approximately 7.5-7.7 Lakhs people, half under 18.  So a truly valid list would be about 3.75-3.8 Lakhs!

But give or take, 4~ Lakhs is ok.  So it’s inflated by 2~ Lakhs!

Nuff padding!  Get what I’m saying, if Guyana has a population of 7.5-7.7 Lakhs, with half below 18, an ideal and precise voters’ list will reflect that.  I understand it will not. But 6+ Lakhs is bloated!

Anyway, it’s not a major issue if, as Dr Jagdeo said, proper controls at the polling stations should mitigate any risk!

But I think the PNC got their 7,000 Haitians and Angolans well covered!  They will make up for the AFC losses!  Why you think HE Granger gave the AFC lil milk!

Half of the population isn't below 18 yrs in 2020. You have confirmed my analysis ,that the voters list is bloated.
