I should add that this has been the practice now for decades under both Democratic and Republican administrations. Both parties have demonstrated a strong commitment to a failed economic policy, which favors financial speculation over physical production.

Henry:
We have seen the financialization of the American economy over the past 30 years---we now have a FIRE Economy---finance, insurance, real estate---manufacturing has been sacrificed---a dumb, stupid move.
In America today the Federal Reserve has more power over the performance of the US economy than anyone else does---the fed controls the money supply---they set interest rates---and they hand out bailouts to banks that absolutely dwarfs anything that congress ever did.
Politicians--Republicans---democrats---the President---they are all a bunch of pipsqueaks---Ben Bernanke and the Fed---that's where the power resides.

Al ... good to see you can laugh about politics.
Some people can't.
Me ... I am happy to be here in this great country. I will cast my vote as a democrat because I am fairly liberal and do believe in taking care of the needy (not the abusers). I am also willing to pay my fair share in taxes but not a penny more. Unlike Romney I get taxed at 33% not 15% and he makes millions more than I do. The man has 5 houses and claims he's from 5 states, but he's out of touch with middle class america and the poor.
Romney was the governor of my state (Ma) and I will tell you he is a moderate. He is not a hard core conservative, he just plays conservative to get support from the GOP base. I don't like his take no prisoners stance when it comes to big business and I personally don't think I can trust what he is saying now compared to what he will do if he is ever elected.
Let's see how Michigan reacts next tuesday, that will be the key.
Honestly, I want the GOP primararies to play out all the way to June. By then Obama should have enough dirt dished out to eat the GOP contender alive.

Yes -- but the moment that the congress and/or the president decide that they want to change that, they can, as FDR demonstrated.quote:Originally posted by Rev Al:

I will say this to Rev da moto Al, and I'll say it unemotionally - you're a real cunnumunu. You'se ah ass to repeat Gallup is a polling company and Obama pray this or that about the Labor Bureau stats about unemployment. Now that's being cold and unemotional. So lay off the "No need to get emotional" bullshit as you cover up deficiencies with this preface.
Also this preface "You really need to read my posts more carefully" is like when people say "you're not listening", when the 2nd IS listening and ripping the 1st party to shreds - like what's happening to your kakahole shit about Obama.
You'se a real patackae to keep haranguing on what today's numbers are and what it means for Obama. Hey, dunlayguana, look at TRENDS. Anyhow this dialog is meaningless and now ova.

But did you see the gallup mid Feb unemployment rate they released yesterday---it's 9.0%---a rise from 8.3% in mid January.
Gallup is a polling company. The Government provides those figures. Are you nuts?
Gallup conducts its own U.S. Unemployment survey, which is probably more reliable than that of the Bureau of Labor Statistics because it does not resort to what are called "seasonal adjustments." The BLS has a dazzling array of tricks it uses to try to make the employment figures look better. In particular, they use computer models to "project" new job creation, which they treat as actual new jobs. Then six months later they quietly announce that models were wrong, and release new figures for the old months, while loudly announcing a new set of fake figures for the coming months.
Who're you? Inspector Clouseau?

Incidentally the abusers are the big business like the Hospital Corporation once owned by our Florida Governor Rick Scott who is not bad talking entitlement programs. It was determined that his company illegally billed and received more than three billion dollars from Medicare. There are so many other companies that do the same thing. People on Medicare are getting tons of RTE meals and pills that they don't need or use and are told that if they refuse them they will also loose their medicare benefits. So the scam continues and it is the big business that are ripping off the entitlement programs not the needy.

Cunnumunu ? Patacake ? kakahole shit ? Dunlayguana ?
The Rev was right about you all along!
You clearly lack the intelligence and the intellectual depth to conduct a mature and rational political debate with the Rev. In your rebuttal, you have been reduced taking cheap shots and engaging in smears, slurs and belittlement.
Listen kari, I guess I hurt your pride and feelings when I asked you to read my posts more carefully so that you could comprehend the gist of what I was saying, so I will forgive your rant and diatribe in your post above.
By the way, if I may ask what's "dunlayguana" ? hahaha

GAS PRICES HIT $6---OBAMA HAVING NIGHTMARES---$6 GAS TERRIBLE FOR ECONOMY

Remember folks---the economic numbers have to be robust in November---or else Obama will be a ONE TERMER!
$6 gas doesn't help.

Which could have been a non-issue if we had done anything to realize Jimmy Carter's energy plan of 1978.

$6.00 is not the normal price for gas in Florida. It must be right in Disneyworld that these people are paying $6.00.
I was in Orlando last weekend and paid about $3.94 for premium. Filled up today in Tampa at $3.98 for premium.

Well said. A very balanced commentary on Obama's presidency.
It doesn't take much effort to jot down what you have heard on TV news, and it has a comfortably plausible ring to it, after so many repetitions from the male models on the screen. That's why everyone nodded soberly and agreed about the threat of Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction, the Built-In Stabilizers in the financial system, the Jobless Recovery and the threat of the Iranian Nuclear Bomb.
If there are inaccuracies in what was posted why not debunk it with facts rather than make a lame post as you did.

Donât waste your time with this moron. Anyone reading his posts will conclude this guy is moron and a lunatic. He is stuck in a loop and repeats the same argument over and over. I think he has an orgasm every time he looks at the result of the latest Gallup polls. He does not deserve to be in this country after the racist attacks that were launched against Obama.
