Regulations like what?  Small businesses have problems because consumer demand is weak and credit is hard to get.  Imagine had the financial system completely collapsed as it wa sgoing to under Bush where they would be.  I have clients and they arent complaining about regulations.  they are complaining about canceled lines of credit and a slow economy.

Now I happen to agree that Obama should have focused on the economy and had heated arguments with Kari last year but I am unimpressed by Romney/Ryan who are operating on the notion that if Bush had certain policies that almost destroyed the globacl economy, then we need to implement these SAME programs and think we will end up in a better place.

Want to see which president in recent times had a healthy economy. CLINTON.  We had record employment levels, he had almost solved the funding for Social Security, and the Feds had a budget surplus, and our international prestige had reached records highs.

8 years of Bush and all of that was destroyed.

You need to stop babbling what the GOP tell you and start thinking for yourself.

It is dishonest to blame Obama for the state of affairs as when he took over the financial sector wa sin crisis, the real estate sector was in melt down and we were losing 700k jobs a month.

Has Obama done as good a job as he could of on the economy/  Of course not.  But we are yet to hear what Romney/Ryan plan to do as gioving us Bush on steriods will land us in a even WORSE situation as we were in on Sept 2008 when every man jack thought that the Great Depression had come back again.

What these comedians do not understand is that the USA has reached a cross roads.  This is not merely about whether Obama did as much as could have done.  I have argued with you on mnay ocassions about his cavalier attitud to the economy in his first two years.

Only $500B out of a budget of $3.6T is discretionary.  The GOP wil not shrink defense and will have to service debt.

So they will have to shrink medicare and social security. YEs that 7.5% or 15% if self employed that all of us pay to ensure a stipend and access to health care as we become too old to work.  This is NOT welfare if we make a contribution to it.

The welfare that basmena babbales about is almost non existent, except for medicaid, and much of that is used to care for those who lack acces sto health insurance and for long term care for the aged.

This is about what kind of USA will we have.  Will we have a USA bwhere college becomes beyond reach for most Americans.  Where the average midle class person will have to fully fund college fopr their kids, their retirement, post retirement healthcare, their health insurance, and yes their mortgages which wil be no lnger tax dductible.  they cannot and all these MIDDE class folks who populate GNI need to understand that.

Let them be fooled by a certain racist or two, rumors have it who live in Canada and enjoy benefits that we lack.

Better the man who does nothing for you than the other one who sets out to destroy you.

And yes those of you who have daughters take note.

If Romney becomes president he will be able to nominate at least one, m,aybe two judges on the Supreme Court.  If you want  a nation where victims of rape cant get on abortion, where if a woman's health is compromised and her pregnancy not sustainable she cant get a mortgage.  If a women wants to use birth control to prevent unwanted pregnancies she will have to go to Canada.

This guy Aiken let the cat out of the bag and the GOP are running from it, but when asked about why their platform repeats exactly what he says they cant answer.

You know for a people who wnat to shrink govt, the GOP really want the govt into peoples' personal space.  Just now they will jail people who dont use the missionary position in bed and who want recreational sex.

So all you racists who are having heart palpitations because you hate Burnham and think that any head of state is equally bad just know that you are shooting yourselves in the foot.  With one or two exceptions, almsot all of you will need Medicare unless you die young, and I suspect want to enjoy the benefits of that Soc Sec ddeduction from your paycheck.

Corporate America is not the best model to suggest as management guide at this point. If failure meant someone falling on the sword then there would be lots of funerals in the Hampton for example. Only the underling gets fired. The fat cats get rich.

Not sure of landslide, but he is in a tighter race than even he imagined.  The economy is trending negative and this is bad news for Obama.

Its bad new for both.  With legions of Americans disappointed with OBama Romney should have been way ahead. Yet it remains in deadlock.

This is amazing with unemployment at 8%.

No the GOP need to be slapped so that 4 years from now the moderates can once again recapture that party.

Its amazing that many Reaganites now admit that if REagan ran in this year he would have been rejected by the GOP, because he believed in compromise, including the need to close tax loop holes for the rich when his budget deficits grew too large.

It’s time for truth telling to end the viral distortions. Photo: Cardinal Timothy Dolan will give the closing blessing at the Democratic Convention AP

WASHINGTON, August 29, 2012 — Enough of the nonsense. Enough of the outright lies and distortions.

Here are the facts:

* Cardinal Timothy Dolan will give the closing prayer at the Democratic Convention, just as he is doing at the Republican Convention.

* There will be no Muslim prayer led by any radical Islamists at the Democratic Convention.

Here is the truth despite Right Wing blogs and misreporting by various media:

Just as he did at the Republican Convention, Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, accepted the Democrats’ invitation to close their convention with a blessing. Even though he has often been at odds with Democrats on social issues, the Cardinal will be there as he was at the GOP event as a pastor. In a statement released by the Cardinal’s spokesman, Joseph Zwilling, to the Catholic journal Commonweal Magazine, the Catholic prelate made clear his role:

“Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, has accepted an invitation to deliver the closing prayer at next week’s Democratic National Convention. As was previously announced, he will also be offering the closing prayer at the Republican Convention on Thursday of this week.

“It was made clear to the Democratic Convention organizers, as it was to the Republicans, that the Cardinal was coming solely as a pastor, only to pray, not to endorse any party, platform, or candidate. The Cardinal consulted Bishop Peter Jugis of the Diocese of Charlotte, who gave the Cardinal his consent to take part in the convention that will be taking place in his diocese.”

That should end the ridiculous rumors about Democrats snubbing the Cardinal, disinviting him, or in any way disrespecting him.

As for the Muslim distortions that have gone viral, there will be no Jumah prayers at the Democratic Convention by the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs. There will be a gathering of Muslims on Friday, August 31 at Marshall Park in Charlotte for an open-air prayer, and other events are planned for around the city as well. It is, however, only one of the 1,000 non-official events that are occurring in Charlotte over the next week.

As the Charlotte Observer noted, these events are timed to coincide with the Convention but are not part of the convention unless they have the Democratic Convention logo. The Jumah Congregational Prayer does not have a DNCC logo.

Some of the other events planned for the week of convention, and not endorsed by the DNCC, include a NASCAR event, an Alabama Gospel brunch, A CarolinaFest (celebrating the Carolinas and the South), Texas Exes Happy Hour, Financial Football, Zumba/Cardiofunk Dance Fitness, and Bend the Arc Jewish Action breakfast to name only some of the events swirling around the main event of the Convention itself.

To fact check this further, go to Snopes, a website that investigates and debunks rumors that have no basis in fact.

The republican party is an old white man's party. One has to go back to Lincoln to find a compassionate republican party. Since the defection of the southern democrats to the Republicans it has remained faithful to the that creed. What does Romney plan to do to generate 12 million jobs.  Cant just be reduce taxes and regulatuions because his buddy George did it and we ended up with 700,000 jobs lost per month.

Cutting teh deficit.  How?  He will reduce taxes and even if he shuts down every Federal agency other than Defense he will still have a $700B deficit...and it will be more as he plans to invade Syria and Iran shortly after becoming President....another TWO unfunded wars...one with a monster which has millions of soldiers...all fired up to die for Allah.  Both only two willing to vent their rage against Israel which seems to control the USA.

Funny every one else thinks he has dementia.

As for poor Mit.  We still do not know who he is.  Or what he plans to do.  His five steps were GOALS...not strategies or tactics.  As a Harvard MBA who knows the difference, but knows that you dont so he doesnt have to tell you what his real plans are.

And its not kissing sick babies, or pretending that he cares about storm victims in Louisiana.

I didn't expect that you would be able to answer the questions directly with anything of substance and you proved me correct.

You obviously do not know the American Republican Party if you think that they are inclusive. Ask yourself why can't they get any significant amount of votes from minorities if they are so inclusive.

You and the pitiful folks who support Obama will never acknowledge Romney and what a great success he has been in life.

HERE ARE A FEW TIDBITS ON MITT---READ AND BE ENVIOUS.

* He inherited a fortune from his father and gave every penny of it away.

* He wanted to prove that he could be a self made success, based on his own hard work and capability.

* Romney is a rich man because he is one of the most successful men in America.

* He became rich by creating prosperity for his familty, hundreds of thousands of other families, and for America.

BOTTOM LINE:

Mitt Romney is exactly what America is looking for at this moment in her history---Obama has been a colossal failure---23 million people in American are unemployed or underemployed----that's a national disgrace according to the iconic Clint Eastwood.

Thank god white Americans like Clint Eastwood will rescue this great country---you blacks, muslims, and Guyanese are free to vote for Hussein----but the white folks will elect Mitt Romney as America's next president.

I see thats what they are telling you. Romney a man of privilege went to harvard, a school of privilege.  Being the son of a rich white man put him in a circle of rich white men and so had access to opportunity that you will never have.  Graduated with no loans you can bet, so was able to take career risks that others cant.

Also understand this.  Romney made loads of cash for himself and his partners and those who invested with him.  Some employees of the companies they acquired probably did OK. Others not only lost their jobs but watched while Romney and his gang raided their pensions.

Romney's goal was to make as much money for himself, his partners and his investors.  If that meant screwing over others well then that is life.

Dont envy his success but please do not make him into Michael Bloombeg. His parents were teachers and other non entities. He most likely went to publci school, not some high priced prep school, so every thing he got he worked for, including learning how to succeed among the rich and the powerful.

Now Bloomberg I respect.  Even if I dont necessarily agree with his views.

Any Guyanese set up a PE or large hedge fund lately? No we will be lucky just to get a job in one of these places.

So dont play this poor little Romney who struggled on his own.  He didnt.  his grandfather did and maybe his father.

He was a child of privilege.

BTW Romney makes sure to take advantage of every loop hole possible. This is why he is scared to show his tax returns.  The reason why he wants estate tax to be eliminated is w/o this his bill will be $70 million, and thgis despite $100 million beingt placed outside of his estate.  Now imagine how much can be done with that!!!!!!

I am sure you think that you can be like Romney if you work hard enough...the nonsense that they fill your head with.  Maybe Romney might pat you on the head while he walks passed you, not bothering to lok at you.

You are a slave.  Your esteem is based on what your massa has, even if you have no chance of ever getting anything near to it/

FM

I agree with Carib again here.  The capitalist system is structured in a certain way so that the 1 percent of the 1 percent remains on top.  It is almost impossible to become the 1 percent. It is not about working hard.

I know of a woman who inherited from her mother's family thousands upon thousands of acreas of land in the American south.  From her father she inherited two multinational corporations.  She has not worked a single day in her life. The capitalist system does not reward hard work.  It rewards people who are smart or ruthless enough to get into the 1 percent.  It is a selfish system.

Rev, when Clint Eastwood said ("These people are all like-minded, like all of us")

("We own this country")  he was not refering to people like you and I.  Because I did not see anyone there in that place that remotely had the color of me and you.  So don't jump up as yet.  That was a thinly disguised "Support our own people" talk from a man who is married to a woman who was fathered by a blackman.

But at the end of the day it is good that Obama is experiencing this "support our own people" talk.  This fool Obama did everything possible to show white people that he is part of them.  So in the end he is getting a taste of his own medicine.

It is strange how racism and self hate makes an individual vote against their interest and against reason. How Romney will do whatever it is he hopes to do is never a matter for analysis. Stupidity and craven racism causes the mind to hiccup further into race bating that he will save the nation from food stamps and welfare!

It did not take the time to assimilate the fact that  it is the very policy they plan to put in place is what put these people on public assistance...deregulation and tax breaks for the rich.Obama has  taken this nation from one where it was hemorrhaging some 700,000 jobs a month to where it is on the plus side. Had it not been for deliberate sabotage for political reason he would have gotten further. His mistake is he trust those bigots.

Romney is not getting college grads, or women or Hispanics or black folks or the young professional. His constituency is and has always been the same. You only need to look into the sea of rich, and mainly old white men at the republican convention to get that fact.

The odium of Eastwood caricature of making a black man disappear is not lost on thinking people. The republican has made color disappear from their ranks for a long time and only the few self hating, wish they were white fools follow them into their mythical paradise.

The fact remains that Ryan advised the congress to vote against Simpson. Bowles, refuses to budge on any deficit reduction deal because it would lead to Obama's re election. They immediately chant "class warfare" when any propose that the the rich be made to pay their fair share. I wonder if the Rev ever paid 13% income tax ever. Romney did. They always link paying their fair share to "job loss" when that claim is pure baloney.

Then there is their policy offering, start a few more wars! Cutting and pasting hate site art will not make any feel better about republicanism. It simply reaffirms the nature of their constituency.

The constant repetition of Marxist, Kenyan, etc etc is simply you being your nasty shallow hateful talentless self.

That is not an opinion. That is a fact. It may be disregarded by you but the reason I post is not for those like yourselves who rely on posting asinine imagery from hate sites but for people concerned with the facts. You will not gain any following with this. It does not appeal to the senses of those seeking to make up their mind in the polls. It is crass diatribe  receptive only to the hate mongers and self haters among us. That population, unfortunately for you, is less than a hand of fingers to this point.

That is your problem Stormy!

YOU CANNOT HANDLE THE TRUTH!

As you know--there are 3 things in life you can't hide for long:

THE SUN, THE MOON, AND THE TRUTH

And America now knows the truth about Odinga Hussein Obambi---the country's first muslim born kenyan marxist president---Odinga Hussein is a trickster---he fooled the majority of Americans(52.88%) in 2008 with his empty, pretentious rhetoric---he said he was going to lower the oceans, cool the sun, heal the planet---and a bunch of baloney---the truth is now known about that blowhard and empty suit---and he will be kicked out of office in November.

When the history books are written---it will be described as one of the great mysteries---how could Barack Hussein Obama---a muslim born kenyan marxist---fool the majority(52.88%) of Americans in 2008 that he was real ?

THE TRUTH CANNOT BE HIDDEN FOREVER.

And the truth has now been revealed---the majority of Americans in 2012 now know they were hoodwinked by Obama in 2008---he is a trickster---a con artist---a fake phony fraud.

Romney's bounce from convention looks short-lived: Reuters/Ipsos poll

WASHINGTON | Sat Sep 1, 2012 4:48pm EDT

(Reuters) - A modest bump in popularity for U.S. presidential hopeful Mitt Romney from this week's Republican Party convention looks to be short-lived, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Democratic President Barack Obama regained a narrow lead on Saturday by 44 percent to 43 percent over his Republican challenger, former Massachusetts Governor Romney, in the latest daily installment of the four-day rolling poll.

Romney was ahead by one point in Friday's online poll and two points in Thursday's survey as his campaign came under a blaze of media attention at the convention in Tampa, Florida.

In his acceptance speech on Thursday, Romney urged voters to get behind him and help rebuild the economy. His address followed three days of speeches by Republicans, including testimonies from Romney's relatives and friends aimed at improving the image of a candidate who is often seen as stiff or aloof.

"This wasn't a lightning bolt convention," Ipsos pollster Julia Clark said. "Comparatively speaking, this was a more muted convention in general ... So it doesn't surprise me that (the bump in polls) wasn't a great deal bigger."

Post-convention poll bounces are common and typically short-lived, and Obama could see one himself next week after he formally accepts his party's nomination for a second term at the Democratic convention in Charlotte, North Carolina.

But with the candidates treading water in a dead-heat race, Clark said she expected polls to remain extremely close all the way to the November 6 vote.

Romney's muted benefit from the convention may be in part because of his decision to unveil his vice-presidential pick, Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan, weeks before the convention.

The convention was also overshadowed by Hurricane Isaac, which caused the cancellation of Monday's events, as well as a bizarre performance right before Romney's speech of Hollywood star Clint Eastwood, who addressed an imaginary Obama in an empty chair.

The Reuters/Ipsos rolling poll measures sentiment during the two-week convention season by polling over the previous four days.

The survey released on Saturday found that of registered voters who have seen, heard or read at least something about the convention, 39 percent thought it was excellent or good, with nearly as many saying it was average.

Among Republicans, 65 percent said the convention went well and 31 percent rated it average.

On Friday, the poll found Romney improving his standing with voters on various favorable characteristics, such as being "a good person" or "tough enough for the job."

Those gains largely ebbed on Saturday, but Romney continued to rise in the key category of likeability. Thirty-two percent of those surveyed found him likeable, a one-point gain from Friday. Obama's likeability lost one point to 47 percent.

The two candidates also emerged neck-in-neck in the question of who "has the right values," with Romney at 38 percent and Obama at 39 percent. On Monday, Obama led in this category by nine points with 43 percent.

It's over! Right now Obama will lose in November by 5 to 7 points----and there is a 50% probability he will lose by a landslide(10+ points).

Check out some Numbers---numbers don't lie:

PARTY AFFILIATION:

In 2008, 39% of the voters were Democrats; 32% Republicans; 29% Independents.

Obama received 89% of the democratic votes; 9% of the Republican votes; 52% of the independent votes---McCain got 44% of the independent votes.

RE: 2012 PARTY REGISTRATION

A survey released recently showed 37.6% of voters identified themselves as Republicans; 33.3% Democrats.

REPUBLICANS NOW HAVE A +4.3% ADVANTAGE OVER DEMOCRATS

PUT THE NUMBERS TOGETHER AND THAT COUPLE WILL BE IN THE WHITE HOUSE IN JAN 2013.

Registration where? DEMS are doing the same thing. In PA they are making sure the voter ID law in place does suppress votes the GOP intended. I do dream but always have a wish fulfillment strategy. Cartoon crapola and race baiting does not mean a damn thing except it shows the color of the heart that lives by that. Romney is not winning this one.

My wife has been working between CA and the southern states so I have had the chance to breeze up and down these regions. I find CA doing quite well in a cruel economic down turn. If  you want to see misery, take a trip through the red states and they are the welfare queens taking in the most federal dollars than any in the lower 48. They will vote GOP despite a mean income of slightly over 15k per year. Some states defy reason and live by ideology when it comes to the presidential elections. CA is firmly a blue state.

That being said, Mexicans are the dominant minority and they are not voting GOP. The liberal elites  may be mad at Obama but they are also not going GOP either. Black vote is locked in, so with women and young liberals so where is the winning constituency for Romney?

You are the one that is in jackass land.  Obama deported over one million Mexicans and that is not going to have an negative effect on the Mexican American population.

For example.

Carlos      "Pablo use to help me with half the rent".

Why don't you call la raza and ask them where they think their constituency will go? Who invented the term self deportation? In one executive order Obama has stayed the deportation of 2 million most Mexican. Yes, ice did do its job and it did deport many illegals but the focus of the Obama administration was to get go after criminal offenders, gang bangers and  those involved in the skin trade as along the south Texas border. Mexicans detest Romney in general. If you bet you will lose.
