New Delhi (CNN) -- An Indian man slapped a movie star in the face during the filming of a TV show in Mumbai because of the length of her dress, police said.

The man, Mohammad Akil Malik, is accused of assaulting Gauhar Khan, an actress and TV host, in a break in shooting for a music-themed reality show on Sunday evening, said V.S. Chavan, a local police official.

Malik also tried to "manhandle" Khan while asking her why she was wearing a short dress, Chavan said Tuesday.

He demanded to know "how she could wear skimpy outfits and dance to cheap songs despite being a Muslim," the Times of India reported, citing an unidentified police official.

Private security guards from the TV show overpowered Malik at the scene and handed him over to police.

Malik, who works as a driver, was arrested on charges of assault, molestation and threatening behavior and is due to appear in court on Thursday, Chavan said.

Khan has acted in several Bollywood films. She gained widespread attention last year thanks to her role in another Indian reality show.

Your opinion that Mohamed is all of that is your opinion. I wonder if you have objections to the use of Jose or Joshuah  or Moses or Aron? Do you think those Muslim kids being called Mohamed are expected to have 12 wives inclusive of a nine year old?

BTW the name use in Britain as the most popular name is not indicative that it is inclusive of whites. It is a statistical skew brought about by weight of the use in muslim communities. Most nonmuslims are motivated by different reasons for name choice than religion so they end up selecting from a vast spread  of names other than Mohamed.

Among all three, there seems to be more misunderstood issues in the Qur'an.

First, in all fairness to both of us, we need to set some guidelines.

Re: 'Authentic truth', we need to identify what it is and how it was derived.

Where it was obtained, how it was obtained and your understanding of  what is 'authentic truth'.

If you will be giving me the 'authentic truth' of The Qur'an, I also need to know your level of understand of The Holy Qur'an.

If you are a long time  Imam, it might give your 'authentic truth'  some credibility.

This stuff is important to me, because I recently had a very emotional spiritual experience in Chicago on a video/photo-shoot  and I have lots of questions regarding where I might be going in my spiritual life.

I don't know any of these guys and for all I know they might be shallow minded to understand your level of spirituality.

I thought it's a nice human interest story, what's happening in Britain. And I gave it a humorous personal touch.

I also thought about Princess Diana and Mohammed Dodi Fayyad. She was reportedly pregnant with his child. If so, and if the baby had turned out to be a boy, he could have been named Mohammed too. So, Prince Harry and Prince William would have had a half-prince brother.

Once I viewed a BHOJPURI movie. At the wedding ritual, the bridegroom fainted and had to be taken away. The bride felt obligated to go ahead with the ceremony. The boy's shoe was left behind, where they sat. She married his shoe.  

Good was some shoes the marriage will last, but had it been slippers it would be rass to play

Why fuss over a name   Beyoncé called her daughter Blue Ivy and Brangelina called their son 'Knox'   Sorry for 'dem poe pickney' when they grow up and want to change dem name.

I am not god deluded. I simply meant that if there is any profundity in religion it can be found in the practical advice given in Hindu scriptures. I do not have much to say of its practices.

BTW, If the last creature I see on this planet is a dog, I would have lived knowing I seen the essence of  humanity on the planet. Only a dog expresses all the selfless ideals men pretend to possess.

Blue ivy is not a bad name if but a nonsense name to those not knowing its back story. Knox is the name of an esteemed if austere and dry intellect  not to mention  a seminal figure in protestantism. His ideas contributed much to the construct of federalism in the US.

TI, I'm moving off names and commenting on another aspect of this picture that begs curiosity.

Seems to me that Doggie Singh would make a better husband for that bride than if she had married a Gilbakka-type man.

I mean, Gilbakka devotes so much time to books, newspapers and GNI that he has no time left for wifeing.

That bride would be far better off with a bit of Doggie action than no action at all.

Nobody can teach you Spirituality. It comes from within.

Many people including some Imams mistakenly replace spiritual  with ritual.  

They have absolutely no clue about spirituality.

Many Muslims including some Imams also ignore the Quranic verses that state:

1. There is no compulsion in religion

2. Muslims should not divide themselves into sects.

On a side note, many non Muslims ( and even Muslims) tend to push the notion that Aisha was 6 or 7 when she got married.  I once offered someone $10, 000 to debate this, and prove Bukhari's claim.  They declined.  

Some history that most people don't know:

1. Aisha was engaged to be married to a Meccan 8 years before she was married to Muhammad. This alone dispels the 6/7 year old myth.

2. Aisha had an older sister called Asma who was 10 ten years older than her.  Asma was born in the year 595.  Therefore if you do the math, Asma was around 28 years old in the time of the Hijra when Aisha got married.....making Aisha around 18 at marriage.
