Our next feature Poet will be TASLEEM FAZLI:

TASLEEM FAZLI:

Poet Tasleem Fazli, who died in 1982, was Nisho's second husband. Nisho was one

of the top (most sought after actress in Pakistan) in the 70's. There were many mega hits to her credit.

We have have known that Tasleem Fazli was one of Pakistani's top Lyricists who wrote some great lyrics, which is still listed under his name.

It is a pity from what we can perceived that someone has deliberately wiped or

have all informations on Tasleem Fazli OBLITERATED including Wiki Articles and pictures, for reason beyond expectations.

There was one controversy that I can think of, or which was widely known, was

that regarding the popular song by Mehdi Hassan and Ghulam Ali, "Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa" sadly the lyrics were credited to Tasleem Fazli as he penned the lyrics of that film ( "AAP KA KHADIM"). Later Ghulam Ali adopted it with same basic music composition and made it popular. Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa is a popular ghazal, especially in the renditions, sung by Ghulam Ali. It is said to be  written by Akbar Allahbadi.

Could there be more controversy of this sort with Tasleem Fazli? Not that we know of, but we know that there were some great Lyrics penned by Tasleem Fazli which includes

1) Khoda Kare Ke Mohabat

2) Rafta Rafta Woh Mere

3) Hamaari Saason May Aaj Tak

4) Aap Ko Bhool Jayey ham

5) Mujhay Dil Se Na Bhulana

Any other informations on Tasleem Fazli will be much appreciated by fowarding to

this forum

The Songs of Soloman and Proverbs have the greatest poetic lines.

Peotry is about life and every culture experiences the same pains and joys.

God the creator of all humans, made us with emotions regardless of color, race or creed. And it is the same, no matter where u go-city or the bush.

31) KHUDAA KARE KI MUHABBAT MEIN VO MAKAAM AAYA

Khudaa kare ki muhabbat mein vo mukaam aaye

With God's blessing, may my love attain such height that

Kisii kaa naam luun lab pe tumhaaraa naam aaye

Whenever a name comes to my lips, it will be yours

Tumhaaraa pyaar mere gesuuon kii ulajhan ho

Tumhaare vaaste dil kaa chiraag roshan ho
Sahar nazar se mile zulf leke shaam aaye

Merii khayaalon kii tasviir huu-ba-huu ho tum
Mere huzuur nigaahon kii aarazuu ho tum
Isii tarah se nigaah uthe salaam aaye

Jahaan talak ye hansii guna-gunaatii raat chale
Nazar nazar se mile, dil se dil kii baat chale
Hamaare dil kii tarap kuchh to apane kaam aaye

Mehdi Hasan's version for the film Afshan:

Khudaa kare ki muhabbat mein vo mukaam aaye

With God's blessing, may my love attain such height that

Kisii kaa naam luun lab pe tumhaaraa naam aaye

Whenever a name comes to my lips, it will be yours

Kuchh is tarah se jiiye zindagii basar na huii

I have lived in such a way that life has become intolerable
Tumhaare baad kisii raat kii sahar na huii

After you my nights never turned into a dawn
Sahar nazar se mile zulf leke shaam aaye

My morning is lit by your eyes and your dark beautiful

hair brings the evening to me

Khud apane ghar mein vo mehamaan ban ke aayen hain

She has entered her own house (my house) as a guest
Sitam to ye hai ki anjaan ban ke aayen hain

Look at her cruelty, coming as a stranger
Hamaare dil kii tarap aaj kuchh to kaam aaye

Today I will utilize sorrows/pain my heart has experienced

Vahii hai saaz, vahii giit, vahii manzar

The instrument and song and the destination is the same
Har ek chiiz vahii hai nahin ho tum magar

Everything is the same, only you are missing
Isii tarah se nigaahen uthe salaam aaye

Somehow let your eyes say salaam and come to me

32) RAFTA RAFTA WOH MERI HASTI KA SAMAAN HO GAYEY

Rafta rafta woh meri hasti ka saamaan ho gayey
Slowly and steadily, she became the part of my identity,
Pehlay jaan, phir jaan-e-jaan,  phir jaan-e-jaana ho gayey
First love, then life and then she became the reason of my life

Din-b-din badnay gayi us husn ki raana iyaan,
As each day passed, her beauty was crossing all the limits,
Pehlay Gul, phir gul-badan, phir gul-badamaan ho gayey
First she was like a rose bud, then a very delicate rose and
then she became like a fully blossomed garden

Aap to nazdeek say nazdeek-tar aatay gayey,
You came close and then started getting closer,
Pehlay dil, phir dilruba, phir dil kay mehmaan ho gayey
First part of my heart then my heart's desire then came a beloved guest
and finally you became part of me

Pyar jab hadd se barha saare Taqaloof mith gayey,
When the love grew beyond the limits, all inhibitions were abandoned
**Aap se phir tum huay phir tu ka Khunwaan hogayey
The formalities were no longer observed until you bacame a part of me

33) AAP KO BHOOL JAAYEN HUM, ITNE TO BEWAFA NAHIN

Aap ko bhool jaayen hum itne to bewafa nahin

I cannot forget you for cheating on me

Aapse kya gila karein? Aapse kuch gila nahin

What complaints can I have against you?... none

Hum tu samjh rahe the yeh tum mile pyaar mil gaya

Ek tere dard ke siva hum ko to kuch mila nahin

Sisha-e-dil ko todna unka to ek khel hai

This glasslike heart is like a game for you

Humse bhool ho gayee unke koi khata nahin

It was my mistake and you are blameless

Kaash wo apne gham mujhe de den to kuch sukoon mile

Had you given me your woes I would have been much relief

Wo kitna bad-naseeb hai, gam hee jise mila nahin

Lucky are those that do not get a heartache from you

Jurm hai gar wafa to kya, kyoon kar wafa ko shod doo

What can be a crime of unfaithfulness, should I be loyal and forget?

Kehte hain is gunaah kee hoti koi saza nahin

There is no punishment for this crime.

34) HAMARI SAANSON MEIN AAJ TAK

Hamari saanson mein aaj tak woh heena ki khushbhoo mehak rahi hai
In my breath, the scent of henna is still lingering today
Labon pe naghme machal rahe hain
On my lips, songs are dancing,
nazar se masti jhalak rahi hai
in my looks, mischief is twinkling

Woh mere nazdeek aate aate hayaa se ek din simat gaye they
Inching towards me, he shly gathered himself
Mere khayalo-n mein aaj tak
Till today, in my thoughts
woh badan ki daali latak rahi hai
his body's youthfulness is swaying

Sadaa jo dil se nikal rahi hai woh sher-o-naghmo-n mein dhal rahi hai
This cry coming from my heart finds its way in verses and songs
Ke dil ke aangan mein jaise
As if in the lap of my heart,
koi ghazal ki dhaandhar khanak rahi hai
the beat of a poem is throbbing

Tadap mere bekharar dil ki kabhi To un-pay asar karey-gi
My restless heart's tremor will surely affect him one day
Kabhi to woh bhi jalengay isme
Some day, he too will burn
jo aag dil main dahek rahi hai
in the fire that in my heart is smouldering

(Kabhi to woh bhi jalengay isme jo aag dil main dahek rahi hai)2
Some day, he too will burn in the fire that in my heart is smouldering

Hamari saanson mein aaj tak woh heena ki khushbhoo mehak rahi hai
In my breath, the scent of henna is still lingering today
Labon pe naghme machal rahe hain nazar se masti jhalak rahi hai
On my lips, songs are dancing, in my looks, mischief is twinkling

Hamari saanson mein aaj tak woh heena ki khushbhoo mehak rahi hai
In my breath, the scent of henna is still lingering today

35) MUJHE DIL SAY NA BHULANA

Mujhe dil say na bhulana chahe roke ye zamana
Tere bin mera jeewan kuch nahi kuch nahi, kuch nahi

Jab say dekha tujhe kuch na chaha sanam
Sab kuch mujhe mil gaya aur mangoo kya khuda say

Kya aur mangoo dua tere bin mera jeewan kuch nahi

Zindagi hain yahi bandagi hain yahi baahon may tere nahi

Mera tujhse hai ye waada chahoonga may tujhko sadaa

Tere bin mera jeewan kuch nahi kuch nahi, kuch nahi

Phool ban kar khile ghum na koi mile

Tu muskurata rahe ye dua hay mera jeewan
Jitna hay tujh ko mile Tere bin mera jeewan kuch nahi

Next on our list is King Bahadur Shah Zafar

Bahadur Shah Zafar

Bahadur Shah ZafarThe last Mughal emperor of India, Bahadur Shah Zafar II (1775-1862) was born Abu Zafar Sirajuddin Muhammad Bahadur Shah Zafar and was a very famous Urdu poet in his times. His poems are still read with much enthusiasm and admiration among the numerous Urdu poetry fans. The life history of Bahadur Shah Zafar is very interesting and is read with much enthusiasm by all. Read on further about Bahadur Shah Zafar biography and learn more about this Mughal emperor who was a genius poet.

Regarded as one of the greatest Urdu poets in the history of India, Bahadur Shah Zafar wrote a large number of Urdu Ghazals most of which were lost during wars fought in the year 1857. Yet, many of them were saved and were later on compiled as Kulliyat-I-Zafar. His Ghazals are a beautiful collection of words that spell magic and are read with awe and admiration even today. Bahadur Shah Zafar was the last and the weakest Mughal emperor. Even then he was considered a hero and was portrayed like one in many Hindi films. A road has been named in his honor in New Delhi, India. His valuable contribution in the Indian freedom struggle is very much acknowledged and he is known as a nationalist in modern India.

He was not a very able emperor and his empire had a lot of chaos and unrest. He was defeated and was sent on an exile in Rangoon. He died over there in the year 1862 and a tomb was built in his honor, which exists even today.

THE LAST EMPEROR

KING BAHADUR SHAH ZAFAR

Bahadur Shah Zafar was a noted Urdu Poet, and wrote a large number of Urdu Ghazals. While some part of his opus was lost or destroyed during the Indian Rebellion of 185, a large collection did survive, and was later compiled into the Kulliyyat-i-Zafar. The court that he maintained, although somewhat decadent and arguably pretentious for someone who was effectively a pensioner of the British East India Compan, was home to several Urdu writers of high standing, including Ghalib, Dagh, Mumin, and Zauq.

Even in defeat it is traditionally believed that he said

غازیوں میں بو رھےگی جب تلک ایمان کی

تخت لندن تک چلےگی تیغ ھندوستان کی

Ghāzioń méń bū rahegi jab talak imān ki; Takht-e-London tak chalegi tégh Hindustan ki
As long as there remains the scent of faith in the hearts of our Ghazis, so long shall the Talwar of Hindustan flash before the throne of London

Emperor Bahadur Shah is seen by some in India as a freedom fighter (he was Commander-In-Chief of the mutiny army), fighting for India's independence from the Company. As the last ruling member of the imperial Timurid Dynasty he was surprisingly composed and calm when Major Hodson presented decapitated heads of his own sons to him as Nowruz gifts. He is famously remembered to have said.

Praise be to Allah, that descendents of Timur always come in front of their fathers in this way.

Zafar, pictured in a 1919 book of Hindustani Lyrics

Zafar was an accomplished Urdu poet and calligrapher. While he was denied paper and pen in captivity, he was known to have written on the walls of his room with a burnt stick. He wrote the following Ghazal (Video search) as his own epitaph.

36) BAAT KARNI MUJHE MUSHKIL KABHI AISI TO NA THI

Baat karni mujhe mushkil kabhi aisi to na thi

It was never as difficult for me to talk, as it is now

Jaisi ab hai teri mehfil kabhi aisi to na thi

Your gathering has never before been, like it is now

Le gayaa cheen ke kaun aaj tera sabr o qaraar

Who has taken away your peace of mind and patience

Beqaraari tujhe ai dil kabhi aisi to na thi

My heart, you were never as uneasy like you are now

Chashm-e-qaatil meri dushman thi hamesha lekin

The eyes of the lovely wine-server had always been deadly,

Jaise ab ho gayi qaatil kabhi aisi to na thi

Your gathering has never before been, like it is now

Un ki aankhon ne khuda jaane kiyaa kya jaadoo

God only knows, what magic her eyes have weaved

ke tabiyat meri maayil kabhi aisi to na thi

My feelings for her was never as attractive as it is now

Aqs-e-rukh-e-yaar ne kis se no tujhe chamkaaya

Taab tujh mein maah-e-kaamil kabhi aisi to na thi

Kya sabab too jo bigadtaa hai Zafar se har baar

What is the reason, you get offended at Zafar all the time

Khoo teri hoor-e- shamaa_il kabhi aisi to na thi
You, the best angel, never had a habit, like you have now

Baat karni mujhe mushkil kabhi aisi to na thi
It was never as difficult for me to talk, as it is now
Baat karni mujhe

37) LAGTAA NAHI HAI DIL MERA UJRE DAYAAR MEIN

Lagtaa nahii hai dil meraa ujre dayaar mei

What pleasure can the heart know in this derelict city

Kiss kii banii hai aalame-naapaaidaar mein

Who has found fullfilment in this mortal world

Umr-e-daraaz maang ke laaye the chaar din

Having asked for long life, I brought back four days
Do aarzuu mein kat gaye do intezaar mein

Two passed away in yearning and two in waiting

Kah do in hasraton se kahiin aur jaa baein

Tell these desires to go and settle down elsewhere
Itnii jagah kahaan hai dil-e-daaghdaar mein

There is little room in this so tainted heart

Kitnaa hai badnaseeb zafar dafan ke liye

How illfated is that for Zafar even for his burial
Do gaz zamiin bhii naa milii kue-yaar mein

Was not granted two yards of earth in the land of the beloved

37) LAGTAA NAHI HAI DIL MERA UJRE DAYAAR MEIN

Interesting to note that This Poem was written by the last Mughal king of India, Bahadur Shah Zafar after he was imprisoned by the Britishers. They did not grant him papers to write on so he burned a stick and wrote with the coal on his prison walls.

38) YA MUJHE AFSAR-E-SHAHAA NA BANAYA HOTAA

Yaa mujhe afsar-e-shaahaa na banaayaa hotaa

Either you shouldn’t have made me a Royal Officer
Yaa meraa taaj gadaayaa na banaayaa hotaa

Or you shouldn’t have made my throne like that of a beggar

Khaak_saarii ke liye garache banaayaa thaa mujhe

I wish I were turned to dust and strewn at loves door

Kaash Khaak-e-dar-e-jaanaa.N na banaayaa hotaa

If I was meant to be humbled to the ground

Nashaa-e-ishq kaa gar zarf diyaa thaa mujh ko

If I was endowed with insatiate for love
Umr kaa tang na paimaanaa banaayaa hotaa

I wish I was given a life of unlimited unbound

Apanaa diivaanaa banaayaa mujhe hotaa tuune
Kyon Khirad_mand banaayaa na banaayaa hotaa

Dil-e-sud chaak banaya tou bala se lekin

That my heart is rent apart I do not care

Zulf-e-mushkeen ka teri shaanaa banaayaa hotaa

Provided the pillow of your locks serves as its resting ground

Roz-e-mamuuraa-e-duniyaa mein Kharaabii hai 'Zafar'

Everything is always so wrong in this mundane world 'Zafar
Aisii bastii se to viiraanaa banaayaa hotaa

Such a place had better been a wild barren ground
