Amongs't the many Poems he had written,  the following are under his credit.

Aisi Hi Sard Sham Thi
Bhir Main Ik Ajnabi Ka Samana
Chand K Sath Kai Dard
Chehre Pe Mere Zulf Ko Phailao
Chuke Chupke Asar Karta Hai
Dil K Dariya Ko Kisi Roz
Jo Utar Ke Zina E Sham Se
Kahan Aa K Rukne The Raste Kahan Mor Tha
Khud Apne Liye Baith K Sochenge
Kisi Ki Ankh Jo Purnam Nahi Hai
Kuch Aise Ghao Bhi Hote Hain
Mera Tamam Fun Meri Kavish
Mohabbat Ki Tabiyat Main
Na Shikayaten Na Gila
Sitare Jo Damakate Hain
Teri Zat Se Nikalna
Tulu E Shams E Mufaraqat Hai
Yahi Bahut Hai K Dil Us Ko
Zindagi K Mele Main

There are so many more he had written

46) KAHAAN AA KE RUKNE THE RAASTE

Kahaan aa ke rukne the raaste,
Where our paths were supposed to end/meet,
Kahaan mod tha, usse bhool jaa,
Where the turning-point lay, forget it,
Jo mil gaya usse yaad rakh,
He who is with you now, behold him,
Jo nahin mila usse bhool jaa.
He who is lost to you, forget him.

Wo tere naseeb ki baarishein,
The rain that was meant for you,
Kisi aur chhat pe baras gayeen,
Has poured itself on another roof
Dil-e-bekhabbar meri baat sun,
My naive heart listen to me,
Usse bhool jaa, usse bhool jaa,
Forget him, forget him.

Mein to gum tha tere hi dhyaan mein,
I was lost in my thoughts of you,
Teri aass tere gumaan mein,
In my hopes of you, in my fancy for you,
Saba keh gayi mere kaan mein,
The gentle breeze whispered in my ear,
Mere paas aa ussay bhool jaa.
Come near me, forget him.

Tujhe Chaand Ban Ke Milaa Thaa Jo
The one you took as your moon
Tere Saahilon Pe Khilaa Thaa Jo
The one who had bloomed at your sea-shores
Wo Tha EK Daryaa Wisaal Ka
He was a sea of union for you
Wo Utar Gaya, Usse Bhool Jaa.
Which is in low tide/has receded now, forget him

Kisi ki aankh mein nahin ashq-e-gham,
In anyone's eyes, there are no tears of sorrow,
Tere baad kuch bhi nahin hai kam,
Even after you left, nothing is amiss,
Tujhe zindagi ne bhulaa diya,
Life has forgotten about you,
Tu bhi muskuraa, usse bhool jaa.
You also smile, forget him,

Na wo aankh hi teri aankh thi,

Those eyes were not your eyes
Na wo khwaab hi tera khwaab tha,
Nor were those dreams your dreams
Dil-e-muntazir to yeh kis liye,
My heart that lies in wait, so why do you,
Tera jaagnaa, usse bhool jaa.
Keep awake, forget him.

Kya ataa hua hai ghubaar mein,
What have you received in the dust that you got,
Gham-e-zindigi ke fishaar mein,
In the pressures of the sorrow of life,
Wo jo darj tha tere bakht mein
That which was written/registered in your fate,
So wo ho gaya, Usse bhool Jaa
Has already happened, forget him.

Yeh jo raat din ka hai khel saa,
This, what seems like a game of night and day
Usse dekh iss pe yakeen naa kar,
Just glance at it but don't put your trust/belief in it,
Nahin aks koi bhi mustaqil,
No image is reflected continuously/perpetually,
Sar-e-aaena, usse bhool jaa.
On the face of the mirror, forget him

Jo bisaat-e-jaan hi ulatt gaya,
He who has turned upside down the chess-board/carpet/substratum of your life
Wo jo raaste mein palat gaya,
He who has turned back from your path,
Usse rokne se haasil kya,
What will be achieved by stopping him,
Usse matt bulaa, usse bhool jaa.
Don't call him back, forget him.

47) HISAAB E UMR KA ITNAA SO GOSH WAARAH HAI

Hisaab-e-umr ka itnaa sa gosh waarah hai
In the reckoning of my lifespan, this is a tiny return of profit
Tumhein nikal ke dekha to sab khasara hai
When I remove you from the equation everything becomes a loss

Kisi chiraag mein hum hain kisi kanwal mein tum
I am personified by some lamp, you are personified by some lotus
Kahin jamaal humara kahin tumhara hai
Somewhere lies my beauty, somewhere lies yours

Wo kya visaal ka lamha tha jis ke nashe mein
What was the intoxication of that moment in which we came together
Tamaam umr ki furqat humein gawaara hai
A separation for an entire life seems acceptable to me

Har ek sadaa jo humein baaz gasht lagti hai
Every call that seems to me as if it echoes/rebounds back
Na jaane hum hain dobaaraa ke ye dobaaraa hai
I wonder if I am a double (of myself) or the call sounds twice

Ajab usool hain is kaarobaar-e-duniyaa ke
Strange are the principles of the business of this world
Kisi ka qarz kisi aur ne utaaraa hai
Someone's loan is repaid by someone else

Kahin pe hai koi khushboo ke jis ke hone ka
Somewhere there is an aroma, which by it's existence
Tamaam aalam-e-maujood istiaara hai
Is an example for the entire existing universe

Na jaane kab tha kahaan tha magar ye lagtaa hai
I dont know when it was, where it was, but it feels like
Ye waqt pehle bhi hum ne kabhi guzaaraa hai
I have lived
this lifetime, sometime once before
Ye Do Kinaare to nadi ke ho gaye hum tum
These two banks of the river, have become me and you
Magar wo kaun hai jo teesra kinaaraa hai
But who is this, who has become the third river-bank

TRANSLATIONS OF URDU POETRY:

Introduction
Aadaab,

My name is Yunus Shariff, I live in Mumbai, India. It is an honor for me to be included in this forum.
I shall be making a humble attempt at translating some of the deepest and most profound poems written by the greatest poets Urdu literature has witnessed. Despite my most sincere efforts, it may not be possible to explain in one sentence the thoughts, ideas and context behind the incandescent words of these luminaries. Thus the sole intention here is to provide a simple translation so more people can understand the poetry.

I hope it will be as much pleasure for all of you to read my translations as it is for me to bring it to you.

Yunus Shariff.

48) TUM MERE SAATH HO HUMRAAH NAHI

Lafz-e-pas-e-lafz
Words followed by words
Jo hum bolte hain, rolte hain
Those which we speak, we utter

Kaun sa lafz hai kholega jo dar maani ka
Which is the word that will open the door of understanding
Is ka pataa kaun kare
Who will find this out
Tum to khushboo ho, sitaaron ki guzargaah ho tum
You are a fragrance, an orbit of the stars are you
Tum kahaan aaogi is dasht-e-purasraar ki pehnaai mein
You can hardly appear in the attire of this mysterious wilderness
Kaise utrogi tamannaaon ki gehraai mein
How can you descend into the depths on my desires

Reh gaya main
As regards me,
So aye jaan-e-wafa
So O' faithful love of my life
Main to jo kuch hoon tumhare hi kham-e-chashm se hoon
Whatever I am, it is the twisted perception of your eyes that makes me so
Tum hi jab lafz pas-e-lafz se aagah nahi
When you yourself aren't acquainted with these words followed by words
Kis tarah sehr-e-mafaaheem ka darwaazaa khule
In which manner can the door of this bewitching comprehension open
Lafz ki kokh mein taaseer kahan se utre
Where-from can potency seep into the womb of these words

Tum mere saath ho, humraah nahi
You are with me, not my companion
Kaun se khowb ke jagmag mein nihaan hain hum tum
What kind of dreams have a glimmer that conceals me and you
Kaise girdaab-e-tamannaa mein rawaan hain hum tum
How, in a vortex of desire, are rapidly transforming me and you
Lafz ke paar jo dekhein to koi raah nahi
Beyond these words if we glance, there is no way
Aur tum lafz-e-pas-e-lafz se aagaah nahi
And you are not acquainted with these words followed by words.

49) JO BHI KUCH HAI MOHOBAT KA PHAILAAO HAI

Jo bhi kuch hai mohobat ka phailaao hai
Whatever it is, it is the propagation of love
Tere mere abad ka kinaaraa hai ye, istiaara hai ye
For you and me it is the edge of an eternity, it is exemplary

PYAR ka ghaao hai, roopka daao hai
It is a wager of beauty, a wound of love
Jo bhi kuch hai Mohobat ka phailaao hai
Whatever it is, it is the propagation of love

Subha dam jis ghadi, phool ki pankhadi
In the morning at the moment when, on the petal of the flower
Os ka aainaa jagmagaane lagaa,
The mirror of the dewdrop starts glistening

Ek bhanwraa wahin, dekh kar har kahin
A bumble-bee over there, after gazing everywhere
Shaakh ki ot se sar uthaane lagaa
From between the bough, starts raising his head

Phool , bhanwraa, talaatum hai, thaeraao hai
The flower, the bumble-bee, it is the turmoil, it is the tranquility
Jo bhi kuch hai mohobat ka phailaao hai
Whatever it is, it is the propagation of love

Khowb kya kya chunein, jaal kya kya bunein
Which dreams to choose, what webs to weave
Mauj thamti nahin, rang rukte nahin
The waves do not break, the hues do not cease

Waqt ke aqs par, khaak ke raqs par
On the reflection of time, on the dance of the dust
Naqsh jamte nahin, abr jhukte nahin
Patterns do not accumulate, Clouds do not bow down

Har musaafat ki doori ka simtaao hai
It is the convergence of a distance of every milestone
Jo bhi kuch hai mohobat ka phailaao hai
Whatever it is, it is the propagation of love

50) JO UTAR KE ZEENA-E-SHAAM SE

Jo Utar Ke Zeena-E-Shaam Se
After descending from the staircase of dusk
Teri Chashm-E-Khush Mein Samaa Gaye
In your parched eyes they were parked in
Wohi Jalte Bujhte Se Mehar-O-Maah
Those blazing snuffed-out sun and moon
Mere Baam-O-Dar Ko Sajaa Gaye
Embellished my roof and door

Ye Ajeeb Khel Hai Ishq Ka
This is a strange play of love
Main Ne Aap Dekhaa Ye Mojza
I myself have witnessed this miracle
Wo Jo Lafz Mere Gumaan Mein The
Those words that were in my thoughts
Wo Teri Zubaan Par Aa Gaye
They came out of your tongue

Wo Chiragh-E-Jaan Kabhi Jis Ki Lav
That lamp of my life, the flame of which
Na Kisi Hawa Se Nigun Hui
Was undisturbed by any breeze
Teri Bewafai Ke Vasvase
The unreliability of your infidelity
Use Chupke Chupke Bujhaa Gaye
Quietly quietly extinguished it

Wo Jo Geet Tum Ne Suna Nahin
Those ballads to which you did not listen
Meri Umar Bhar Kaa Riyaz Tha
Were the rehearsals of my entire life
Mere Dard Ki Thi Daastaan
Was the saga of my agony
Jise Tum Hansi Mein Udaa Gaye
Which you dismissed with your laughter

Wo Tha Chand Shaam-E-Visaal Kaa
Was that the moon of the eve when we met
Ke Thaa Roop Tere Jamaal Ka
Or was it a facet of your beauty
Meri Rooh Se Meri Aankh Tak
From my soul to my eye
Kisi Roshni Mein Nahaa Gaye
In some radiance I was drenched

Ye Jo Bandagaan-E-Niyaaz Hain
These worshipers of desire
Ye Tamaam Hai Wo Lashkari
They are all like an entire army
Jinhein Zindagii Ne Aman Na Di
Whom life did not grace with peace
To Tere Huzoor Mein Aa Gaye
So they assembled in your attendance

Teri Berukhi Ke Dayaar Mein
In the aspect of your indifference
Main Havaa Ke Saath Havaa Huaa
I was dissipated by the winds
Tere Aaine Ki Talaash Mein
In the search for a mirror for you
Mere Khwaab Chehra Ganvaa Gaye
My dreams lost their identity

Tere Vasvason Ke Fishar Mein
In the pressure of your unreliability
Tera Shehar-E-Rang Ujad Gayaa
Your city of colors was ruined
Meri Khwahishon Ke Ghubaar Mein
In the dust-cloud of my desires
Mere Maah-O-Saal-E-Vafaa Gaye
My months and years of faithfulness disappeared

Wo Ajeeb Phool Se Lafz The
Those were strange flower like words
Tere Honth Jin Se Mehak Uthe
The ones that perfumed your lips
Mere Dasht-E-Khwab Mein Door Tak
In the wilderness of my dreams far beyond
Koi Baagh Jaise Lagaa Gaye
Some garden as if bloomed away

Meri Umr Se Na Simat Sake
By my lifetime, they were not confined
Mere Dil Mein Itne Sawal The
In my heart there were so many queries
Tere Paas Jitne Jawaab The
The many responses you had with yourself
Teri Ek Nigaah Mein Aa Gaye
In your one gaze, they were revealed away

Once again we must express our appreciation to Bhai Yunus for yet another excellent job with "JO UTAR KE ZEENA-E-SHAAM SE" If I had to choose between the soothing voice of Dr Amjad Parvez and the interpretation of Mr Yunus Shariff,

then it will really be hard one to chose from.

If I were to ask Yunus Bhai between himself and Dr Amjad Parvez who scored heavily?.........humbly Yunus Bhai will say "Dr Amjad Parvez took the Cake"

If I were to say "Thank You" to Yunus Bhai for a wonderful job done he would tell me "From one Ghazal fan to another No thanks is required, since it is a love from deep down of the heart"

Such humility is very hard to come by, once in a lifetime it hits at your door, and when it does........emotions gets the upperhand.

As we reaches our 50th Poems, there are still yet another 50 to go, and since we are leaving the best for last (Mirza Assaduallah Ghalib and Allama Iqbal between them there will be 20 Poems) we still do have another 30 Poems and 6 Poets before we bring this to a closure.

The good news is that Yunus Bhai will be with us with his impeccable interpretation of some of the Greatest Poets who had walked this face of the earth.

Shakeel Badayuni

POET: SHAKEEL BADAYUNI

Shakeel Badayuni (August 3, 1916 – April 20, 1970) was an accomplished Urdu poet, lyricist and songwriter

Shakeel Badayuni was born in Badayun, Uttar Pradesh. His father, Mohammed Jamaal Ahmed Sokhta Qadiri wanted him to have a good career, thus he arranged Arabic, Urdu, Persian, and Hindi tuition for Shakeel at home. His inclination towards poetry was not hereditary like other shayars One of his distant relatives, Zia-ul-Qadiri Badayuni was a religious shayar. Shakeel was influenced by him and the contemporary environment of Badayun led him to Sher-O-Shayari.

When he joined Aligarh Muslim University in 1936, he started participating in inter-college, inter-university mushairas and won frequently. In 1940, he married Salma, who was a distant relative of his and they had been living in a common house since childhood, however, the purdah system was vogue in their family and they were not close. After completing his B.A. he moved to Delhi as a supply officer, but continued participating in mushairas, earning fame nation-wide. Those were the days of shayars who wrote about the downtrodden sections of society, their upliftment, the betterment of society and all. But Shakeel had an altogether different taste - his poetry was more often not romantic and close to heart. Shakeel used to say:

Career:

Shakeel moved to Bombay in 1944 to write songs for films. He met film producer, A.R. Kardar and music composer, Naushad who asked him to sum up his poetic skills in one line. Shakeel wrote, Hum dard Ka Afsana Duniya Ko Suna Denge, Har Dil Main Mohabbat Ki Ek aag Laga Daingay. Naushad immediately signed him for Kardar's film, Dard (1947). The songs of Dard proved to be very successful especially Uma Devi (Tun Tun)'s Afsana Likh Rahi Hoon. Only a few are so lucky that they attain success in their first film, but Shakeel deserved success which started with Dard and continued on over the years.[6]

Together, he and Naushad became one of the most sought after composer/lyricist duos in the industry. Among the stupendous scores they churned out together, are those of Baiju Bawra (1952), Mother India (1957), and Mughal-e-Azam (1960), that stand out. Other films they scored together include Dulari (1949), Shabab (1954), Ganga Jamuna (1961), and Mere Mehboob (1963). Although Shakeel Badayuni worked most extensively with Naushad, he also collaborated with Ravi and Hemant Kumar as well. His lyrics for the song Husnwale Tera Jawab Nahin and Ravi's music both won Filmfare Awards for the hit film Gharana. His other notable film with Ravi is Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1960), while Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962) is his biggest hit with Hemant Kumar. The title song from Chaudhvin Ka Chand, rendered by Mohammed Rafi, won Badayuni the Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist in 1961.

Shakeel penned numbers for around 89 films. In addition, he wrote many popular ghazals which are still sung by vocalists like Pankaj Udhas and others. Unlike other shayaars, he wasn't an alcoholic.

The Indian government had honoured him with the title Geet Kar-e-Azam

Association with Naushad
Shakeel shared a close friendship with Naushad, Ravi and Ghulam Mohammed, with whom he enjoyed his life to the fullest. Naushad used Shakeel as the lyricist for his tunes for most of his films for a period of 20 years. Baiju Bawra, which was a milestone in both of their careers, was supposed to go to Kavi Pradeep. Vijay Bhatt, the director of the movie was insistent of using Kavi Pradeep as lyricist since the film was supposed to have many devotional songs. Naushad requested Vijay Bhatt to hear the lyrics written by Shakeel. Vijay Bhatt agreed and the rest was history.

Association with Ravi
Shakeel also wrote a substantial chunk of his songs for music director Ravi Sharma. Prominent amongst those were Gharana, Ghunghat and Grihasti as well as Phool Aur Patthar, Chaudhvin Ka Chand and Do Badan.

Association with Hemant Kumar
Shakeel wrote for Hemant Kumar for movies like Bees Saal Baad, Sahib Bibi Aur Gulam, Bin Badal Barsaat.

Association with S.D.Burman
Shakeel penned lyrics for the tunes of S D Burman for movies Kaise Kahoon & Benazir.

Others
C.Ramachandra - Zindagi Aur Maut, Wahan Ke Log. Roshan - Bedaag, Noorjahan.

PERSONAL LIFE:

Shakeel Badayuni succumbed to diabetes complications at the age of fifty-three on April 20, 1970, leaving behind his wife, a son and a daughter. His friends, Naushad, Ahmed Zakaria, and Rangoonwala formed a trust called Yaad-e-Shakeel after his death and this trust is now the source of some income to his bereaved family.

Shakeel loved to play badminton, go on picnics and hunting trips and fly kites with his friends from the industry, Naushad and Mohammed Rafi. Sometimes Johny Walker would join them in kite-flying competitions. Dilip Kumar, writers Wajahat Mirza, Khumar Barabankhvi and Azam Bajatpuri were among Shakeel’s other close friends within the industry

51) MERE MEHBOOB TUJHE MERI MOHABBAT KI QASAM

Mere Mehboob Tujhe Meri Mohabbat Ki Qasam
My sweetheart, I implore you by the pledge of my love
Phir Mujhe Naragisi Aankhon Ka Sahaaraa De De
Once more grace me with the assistance of your narcissus eyes
Meraa Khoyaa Huaa Rangeen Nazaaraa De De,
Return Back To Me My Lost Vibrant Perspective

Aye Mere Khwaab Ki Taabir, Meri Jaan-E-Gazal
O interpretation of my Dream, O essence of my Song
Zindagi Meri Tujhe Yaad Kiye Jaati Hai
With my very being I keep recalling you
Raat Din Mujhko Sataataa Hai Tassavuur Teraa
Night and Day I remain agonized in your contemplation
Dil Ki Dhadakan Tujhe Aawaaz Diye Jaati Hai
The beat of my heart keeps calling you
Aa Mujhe Apni Sadaaon Ka Sahaaraa De De
Now bestow on me the assistance of the Call of your voice
Meraa Khoyaa Huaa Rangin Nazaaraa De De
Return Back To Me My Lost Vibrant Perspective

Bhool Sakti Nahin Aankhen Vo Suhaanaa Manzar
My eyes can never forget that pleasant scene
Jab Teraa Husn Mere Ishq Se Takaraayaa Thaa
When your elegance dashed against my love
Aur Phir Raah Men Bikhare The Hazaaron Naghamen
And then on the path-way scattered a thousand Ballads
Main Vo Naghamen Teri Aavaaz Ko De Aayaa Thaa
Those Songs To Your Voice I had presented away
Saaz-E-Dil Ko Unhin Geeton Kaa Sahaaraa De De
Bestow on the instrument of my heart the assistance of those Songs
Meraa Khoyaa Huaa Rangin Nazaaraa De De
Return Back To Me My Lost Vibrant Perspective

Yaad Hai Mujhako Meri Umr Ki Pahali Vo Ghadi
I recall that  Prime instance of my life
Teri Aankhon Se Koi Jaam Piyaa Thaa Maine

When I drank a glass of wine from your eyes
Meri Rag Rag Men Koi Barq Si Laharaai Thi
Something like lightning swept through my veins
Jab Tere Maramari Haathon Ko Chhuaa Thaa Maine
When I had gently grazed my hand against your fair hand
Aa Mujhe Phir Unhin Haathon Ka Sahaaraa De De
Come bestow on me once again the assistance of those hands
Meraa Khoyaa Huaa Rangin Nazaaraa De De
Return Back To Me My Lost Vibrant Perspective

Maine Ik Baar Teri Ek Jhalak Dekhi Hai
One time I had seen a fleeting glimpse Of you
Meri Hasarat Hai Ke Main Phir Teraa Deedaar Karun
It is my yearning to once again lay eyes on you
Tere Saaye Ko Samajh Kar Main Hanseen Taj Mahal
Assuming your shadow to be the Majestic Taj Mahal
Chaandani Raat Mein Nazron Se Tujhe Pyaar Karun
On the moonlit night with my eyes I keep caressing you
Apani Mahaki Hui Zulfon Ka Sahaaraa De De
Bestow on me the assistance of your perfumed locks
Meraa Khoyaa Huaa Rangin Nazaaraa De De
Return Back To Me My Lost Vibrant Perspective

Dhoondhata Hoon Tujhe Har Raah Men, Har Mahafil Men
I keep searching for you on every path, in every congregation
Thak Gaye Hain Meri Majaboor Tamannaa Ke Qadam
My Footsteps Of Desire are overwhelmed by exhaustion
Aaj Ka Din Meri Ummid Ka Hai Aakhari Din
Today is the ultimate day of my hope for you
Kal Na Jaane Main Kahaan Aur Kahaan Tu Ho Sanam
Tomorrow don't know where I or where you will be my darling
Do Ghadi Apani Nigaahon Ka Sahaara De De
For a couple of moments bestow on me the assistance of your glances
Meraa Khoyaa Huaa Rangin Nazaaraa De De
Return Back To Me My Lost Vibrant Perspective

Saamne Aa Ke Zaraa Pardaa Uthaa De Rukh Se
Come before me and raise the veil off your face
Ik Yehi Meraa Ilaaj-E-Gham-E-Tanhaai Hai
This is the Sole Cure for the sorrow of My Lonesomeness
Teri Furaqat Ne Pareshaan Kiyaa Hai Mujhko
Separation from you has been distressing for me
Ab To Mil Jaa Ke Meri Jaan Pe Ban Aai Hai
Come Meet me now as I am living my life in vain
Dil Ko Bhooli Hui Yaadon Ka Sahaaraa De De
Bestow on my heart the assistance of your forgotten remembrances
Meraa Khoyaa Huaa Rangeen Nazaaraa De De
Return back to me my Lost Vibrant Perspective

53) MERE HUMNAFAS MERE HUMNAWAA

Mere Humnafas, Mere Humnawaa,
My soul-mate, my dearest friend
Mujhe Dost Ban Ke Dagaa Na De
Do not be my friend and betray me
Main Hoon Dard-e-Ishq Se Jaan-Valab,
The pain of love has left me lifeless
Mujhe Zindagi Ki Dua Na De
Do not give to me the blessing of life

Main Gham-E-Jahan Se Nidhaal Hoon
I am listless with the sorrow of life
Ke Saraapaa Dard-O-Malaal Hoon
I am head to toe in the pain of grief
Jo Likhi Hai Mere Naseeb Mein
What has been written in my fate
Wo Aalam Kisi Ko Khudaa Na De
May God not grant to anyone this state

Na Ye Zindagi Meri Zindagi
Neither this life is my life
Na Ye Daastaan Meri Daastaan
Nor this story is my story
Main Khayaal O Weham Se Door Hoon
From thoughts and fancies I am far away
Mujhe Aaj Koi Sadaa Na De
May anyone not call me today

Mere Ghar Se Door Hain Raahatein
Relief is distant from my home
Mujhe Dhoondhti Hain Musibatein
Trouble has been searching for me
Mujhe Khauf Yeh Hai Ke Mera Pataa
I am scared of this, that my address
Koi Gardishon Ko Bataa Na De
May someone not reveal to my misfortunes

Mujhe Chhodd De Mere Haal Par,
Let me please be on my own
Teraa Kyaa Bharosaa Hai Chaaragar
How can I rely on you, O healer
Ye Teri Nawaazish-e-Mukhtasar,
This inadequate favor of yours
Meraa Dard Aur Badhaa Na De
May it not further aggravate my pain

Meraa Azm Itnaa Buland Hai
My resolve is so sublime
Ke Paraaye Sholo-n Kaa Darr Nahin
That the fire-bolts of others scare me not
Mujhe Khauf Aatish-e-Gul Se Hai,
I fear the flare within the flower
Ye Kahin Chaman Ko Jalaa Na De
May it not set the garden ablaze

Mere Daagh-e-Dil Se Hai Roshni,
The scar of my love begets a radiance
Isi Roshni Se Hai Zindagi
This radiance begets an existence
Mujhe Darr Hai Aye Mere Chaaragar,
I am scared of this O healer of mine
Ye Chiraag Tu Hi Bujha Na De
May you not yourself, blow out this lamp

Mera Chashm-E-Shauq Tera Bharam
The desire in my eyes is a delusion for you
Rahe Umr Bhar Yoon Hi Taaza Dam
Shall be fresh like this all of it's life
Naa Pukaar Us Ko Ke Wo Sanam
Do not call her or that darling of yours
Kahin Jal Ke Jalwa Dikha Na De
May she not light up to display her splendor

Dar-E-Yaar Par Badi Dhoom Hai
There is a big ruckus at the door of my lover
Wahi Aashiqon Ka Hujoom Hai
That mob of her suitors has gathered there
Abhi Neend Aayi Hai Husn Ko
My sweetheart has just now gone to sleep
Koi Shor Kar Ke Jagaa Na De
By their noise they may not wake her up

Kabhi Jaam Lab Se Lagaa Diya
Sometimes she takes the wine-cup to my lips
Kabhi Muskura Ke Hataa Diyaa
Sometimes she smiles and takes it away
Teri Chedh Chaadh Aye Saaqiyaa
This teasing of yours O bar-tender
Meri Tishnagi Ko Badhaa Na De
May it not intensify my longing for you

Wo Uthein Hain Leke Khum-o-Suboo,
She rises-up holding a cup of wine
Are Aye 'Shakeel' Kahaan Hai Tu
Listen O Shakeel Where are you
Tera Jaam Lene Ko Bazm Mein
To take away your cup of wine
Koi Aur Haath Badha Na De
May Someone else not extend his hand

Wahi Aashiqon Ka Hujoom Hai
That mob of her suitors has gathered there
Abhi Neend Aayi Hai Husn Ko
My sweetheart has just now gone to sleep
Koi Shor Kar Ke Jagaa Na De
By their noise they may not wake her up

Main Hoon Sooz-e-Ishq Se Jaan-Valab,
The pain of love has left me lifeless
Mujhe Zindagi Ki Dua Na De
Do not give to me the blessing of life

Kabhi Jaam Lab Se Lagaa Diya
Sometimes she takes the wine-cup to my lips
Kabhi Muskura Ke Hataa Diyaa
Sometimes she smiles and takes it away
Teri Chedh Chaadh Aye Saaqiyaa
This teasing of yours O bar-tender
Meri Tishnagi Ko Badhaa Na De
May it not intensify my longing for you

Main Hoon Sooz-e-Ishq Se Jaan-Valab,
The pain of love has left me lifeless
Mujhe Zindagi Ki Dua Na De
Do not give to me the blessing of life

Wo Uthein Hain Leke Khum-o-Suboo,
She rises-up holding a cup of wine
Are Aye 'Shakeel' Kahaan Hai Tu
Listen O Shakeel Where are you
Tera Jaam Lene Ko Bazm Mein
To take away your cup of wine
Koi Aur Haath Badha Na De
May Someone else not extend his hand

Main Hoon Sooz-e-Ishq Se Jaan-Valab,
The pain of love has left me lifeless
Mujhe Zindagi Ki Dua Na De
Do not give to me the blessing of life

Mere Humnafas, Mere Humnawaa,
My soul-mate, my dearest friend

(Mere Humnafas, Mere Humnawaa,
My soul-mate, my dearest friend
Mujhe Dost Ban Ke Dagaa Na De)2
Do not be my friend and betray me
(Main Hoon Sadma Ishq Se Jaan-Valab,
The pain of love has left me lifeless
Mujhe Zindagi Ki Dua Na De)2
Do not give to me the blessing of life

Mere Humnafas, Mere Humnawaa,
My soul-mate, my dearest friend

(Main Gham-E-Jahan Se Nidhaal Hoon
I am listless with the sorrow of life
Ke Saraapaa Dard-O-Malaal Hoon)2
I am head to toe in the pain of grief
(Jo Likhi Hai Mere Naseeb Mein
What has been written in my fate
Wo Aalam Kisi Ko Khudaa Na De)2
May God not grant to anyone this state

Mere Humnafas, Mere Humnawaa,
My soul-mate, my dearest friend
Mujhe Dost Ban Ke Dagaa Na De
Do not be my friend and betray me

Mere Humnafas, Mere Humnawaa,
My soul-mate, my dearest friend

(Mujhe Chhodd De Mere Haal Par,
Let me please be on my own
Teraa Kyaa Bharosaa Hai Chaaragar)2
How can I rely on you, O healer
(Ye Teri Nawaazish-e-Mukhtasar,
This inadequate favor of yours
Meraa Dard Aur Badhaa Na De)2
May it not further aggravate my pain

Mere Humnafas, Mere Humnawaa,
My soul-mate, my dearest friend
Mujhe Dost Ban Ke Dagaa Na De
Do not be my friend and betray me

Mere Humnafas, Mere Humnawaa,
My soul-mate, my dearest friend
